Bosch Classixx 1400 spin problem

Our old Bosch washing machine has developed a problem in that it stops the cycle on spin. Now when I manually move the know to Spin the spoin then works and the cycle completes including draining the cylinder. I first thought it might be the drain pump but as this works when I select the Spin setting that seems to be not the case. Anybody have any other ideas. One American youtube video suggested the cold water valve but maybe it's a much bigger issue such as the controller or PCB? Thanks

in any wash let it fill about a gallon of water, then bring it back to off position and then back to drain/empty and see if it drains. When it starts to drain start /pause it a few times with the start sensor button, if it stops emptying the pump is worn otherwise there is something obstructing the flow of water between the base of the drum and end of the emptying hose. A worn pump will sometimes run without water

I've the same machine and had a similar problem 2 years ago. Had a feeling it was the motor brushes. Changed them and it's fine now

Let me know if you need more help
