Hi. I just replaced the control panel battery and two strange things have happened.

The fault has cleared but the keyfob no longer works. It worked fine before the battery change.
The bell box led stay on constantly. Before they used to flash from side to side.

Are these faults just a coincidence or have they something to do with the battery change?

I haven't got the engineer code but didn't need it to get rid of the low battery fault.

Update. The keyfob is working now but the bell box leds are on but not alternating on off. It's a Sabb bell box. Anybody any ideas please?

Is it a wired or wire free external bell?

Wired bell has a link that controls the LED.

Strange one if it use to alternate and now just stays lit if this has not been touched.

You could try a down power of the system (mains and battery) and back up to see if it fixes itself.

Otherwise you may need to get up at the bell to see if a short on a cable may be connecting the links.
