Good question. We are into a grey area. If Steely Dan was still really a band after Walter Becker died, then yes. On the other hand, if Donald is the only official member, it is effectively a solo act with session players. I ruled out The The on the basis that Matt Johnson was the only official member.

I was looking up the history of The Misfits and I see that Glenn Danzig, lead vocalist and keyboardist, formed the band. Assuming that it was not fully complete until bassist Jerry Only joined, Jerry was an original member as well, but both are still in the line up.

The criteria is a band, past or present, where its most recent line up had only one original member left. However, if it turns into a solo act, it no longer fits the thread. There have been a number of grey areas mentioned on this thread already. Simply Red is a good example. It definitely was a band when it started off, but it may possibly be only singer Mick Hucknall these days. I saw separate articles in Wikipedia for Adam and the Ants (the band) and Adam Ant (the solo act)!

The Mindbenders (1960s British rhythm and blues and pop band) - Eric Stewart, guitarist and sometimes vocalist. He went on to be one of the original founding members of 10CC.
