He didn't play any rugby from March to September and has only played in 5 of the 8 URC games this season. The word is that all the internationals are available for 7 of the 9 games between the AIs and the 6N.

Yeah, it looks like based on 7 of 9 rule that Munster will be without Tadhg Beirne and Peter O'Mahony either against Ulster on New Year's Day or against Leinster on Stephen's Day, assuming they don't rest them for the Northampton game or mix and match them.

He played three intense tests in NZ in the summer, followed by three tests this Autumn (I'm still baffled why they played him in the Fiji game).

He's played 377 minutes so far this season for Munster, which is the 4th most of all Munster players heading into this weekend.

The comment that he's racked up a lot of rugby is entirely fair.

I actually forgot that he made it back for the NZ tour. He didn't play for Munster again after the 6N so for some reason I had it in my head that he missed it.

Is Big E injured? Don't see him in the 23...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,595 ✭✭✭✭CIARAN_BOYLE

No word of any injuries. Its a bit unusual to leave him out of the 23 and not select a sub lock.

One thing if someone shoots out of the line and picks off one of your passes, but trying to float one over him and just passing it straight to him is something else.

something really wrong with this team.

Thought we had turned that one over.

That pass and linking between Frisch and scannell was sublime!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,522 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

That's a lovely delayed pass and line for Scannell's score.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,399 ✭✭✭letowski

Lovely delayed pass by Frisch there to put Scannell in. Kinda crazy we’re only down 3. Our discipline has been terrible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,502 ✭✭✭almostover

Man oh man we need to move on from the 2 Scannells as soon as we can. Rory is hopeless out there tonight and Niall is a penalty machine. Frisch seems to be a bit of a find at least. Time to jettison Carbery too, his confidence is shot. How were in this game is beyond me given the basic mistakes and silly penalties were giving away.

Carbery and the two Scannell's have been poor alright. Casey is having a stormer though and Frisch is getting better with every game.

Frisch will be in the running for the RWC23 squad, I'm fairly confident. Might need an injury or suspension to actually get in, but he seems to have all the tools.

At least two of Edi's tries were complete gifts, so game very much on in the second half.

    lovely from Joey

Casey's kicking has significantly improved in the last 6 months or so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,595 ✭✭✭✭CIARAN_BOYLE

If we go on to announce 2 more warm ups for the World cup I'd be confident saying that he would be capped in the first one which will be mainly a run out of fringe players unlikely to make a squad who are outside chances of being called up with injuries.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,154 ✭✭✭✭Neil3030

Two very similar tries, delayed pass to an outside-in line.

Must be something MP has them working on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,399 ✭✭✭letowski

Casey has been so good. Great tempo, while also looking to snipe, solid kicking.. he has played his way to the starting 9 shirt next week v Toulouse imo.

Intercept aside I think carbery is playing well.

He's taking the ball very flat and releasing players.

Carbery has had a very good last 10mins

Taking it to the Edinburgh defence and linking the play

Coombes had no right to get to the line, phenomenonal carry. Bit of belief in this team, didn't look rattled by the 1st half tries and belief in ability to attack is clear to see.

21 unanswered points and try bonus sewn up. Brilliant second half performance. Brilliant finish from Coombes.

Munster with the bonus point and an 11 point lead.

Hopefully they keep it up. Substitutions have started as Casey came off for Patterson.
