    What type of fields did you put in for the Low Input Grassland if you don't mind me asking as in do ya need types of flowers species or is it just grass in the fields ?

    Hoping to put some in myself if possible

    Advisor asked us if we had any fields that we didnt put fertiliser on (there are a few). He said they were ideal then for the low input grassland option.

    That's what I think tbh. The date showing on mine is well in advance of when the final plan (with very significant differences to the initial one) was finalised


    I far prefer things I can apply for and manage myself......now the wait to find out if its been made a balls of or not


    I'd still pay them the fee to rubber stamp it but the list of people I trust to do things competently is small...I practically do the accounts myself and get the accountants to check and rubber stamp


    After experiences with some solicitors and accountants and various assorted flunkies over the years you nearly have to have the job done yourself and know all the answers to the questions you are going to ask in advance.....

    I did the Extensive grazing option, advisor said my ground wouldn’t have the necessary plants/flowers to get a good score for the low input option. (And I don’t really put out any fertiliser)

    The extensive grazing one is a flat 250/ha, whereas the low input option can pay up to 400/ha - but it’s score dependant…

    I put in the riparian strip option.electric fence which is already there has to be 1.5mtrs out from drain or river.1.30 per meter .1964 mtrs

    Looking at the riparian zone. Have 2 options.

    1; a bog field that I would just need to close the gate on. Its 4 acres

    2; a hilly field on the side of the mountain. It's very rough and parts of it you can't drive on. Its 10 acres, so would need to divide in 2.

    At 600 euro an acre it seems handy money. It's a pity a bit more couldn't go into it

    In organic scheme so cant go with riparian zone option as double funding reg means i would lose all organic payment on lpis parcel that riparian zone is in.

    Payment for riparian is 5 x the organic but you lose the use of the parcel as such. Depending on the land it could be worth forgoing the organic payment

    Also organic thinking of throwing 2hc into riparian as only lose the 60 a hc on it for organic payment, not sure if much hassle though switching parcels between schemes

    Yep went with a good bit. Most is at 1.5m so just move the fence out. Some is 3m sloped so won't miss it. Included tree planting in this area. Small bit of extensive grazing. Rest is made up of new hedgerows, coppicing and a bit of laying

    For the riparian zone measure can you not graze that area at any stage of year?,also what is minimum number of acres you can put into it to qualify and does it all have to be in one block?

    From what I was told you can’t graze it at all. Can go in after the 1st of September and mulch/top/mow it if you want or you can just let it grow wild. Probably be much handier having it all in one parcel.

    i got lucky, have 2ha of waste ground full of bog holes and too dangerous to travel with a tractor. Fenced it all off and get 3k a year in acres just to let it go.

    Yea you can cut and gather after the 1st of Sept so you could make silage of it.

    We've a few acres rough we're just going to let go wild. Only downside is that this is ground we're after spending time and money on trying to get it half decent

    Just to clarify. its more benificial to choose riparian strip action than riparian zone option if partisipating in organic scheme.in my case it was approx 1100 for the same parcel

    2Ha is the max area for the Riparian zone but you can do less afaik. It can be in more than plot also I think.

    I’m confused!Cant you split Lpis parcel for riparian zone and claim organic on rest of parcel?

    If choosing riparian zone in acres and u are organic farming the full parcel area is deducted from organic payment although u only claiming riparian on 2 happpp

    What's the situation during Acres with changing your planner? Can another planner just take over?

    I changed planner this year from glas planner iv had past 7 years as he wanted 700 for acres plan and 600 per year after.Told him no way payin that.got plan drawn up and submitted last tuesday for 500 and no annual charge as all linear options chosen

    Are you sure if this? I have a 8ha parcel that was considering fencing off one end. But that would make it a no go.

    Planner said to me can split the parcel, we ve decided to put other part of parcel into intensive grassland and he said no issue either way but was checking it

    Thie riparian zone deductions only applies to organic payment if entering acres.no issue if not organic.

    Surely you’ve got this wrong. You can take your 2Ha out for the riparian zone and get the Organic payment on the rest of the LPIS parcel.

    Well the acres spec says if choosing riparian zone option then organic payment for the full parcel is foregone.Thats my reading of it anyway maybe im wrong

    signed contract for 800 and 700 a year thereafter. 800/700 Inc BPS application which is completely straightforward. Actions already done since glas river fencing and only new one is tree panting. I overpaid.

    Main thing is u got ur application submitted on time..Everyone has 2 get an approved planner to submit plan.The annual fees being sought by planners is mad stuff especially if they not even callin out to farm each year.no one is tied to any planner once plan is submitted.
