"Green" policies are destroying this country

So you are backing a proposal for 30 Gigawatts of offshore energy for domestic supply and hydrogen production and you neither know or care what that will cost.

Yeah that sound right for greens. To hell with the expense trust us we know what we are doing. It`s our ideology un-priced dream. We will just buy a pig in a poke that you all will be paying for, how much we haven`t a clue, but sure it will be grand.

Typical greenie response, only care about themselves, they hate huge swathes of the Irish population and they wonder why we have nothing but contempt for them.Don't vote for them folks, remember no transfers under any circumstances, sow the seed of their incompetence in any and every person you come across that may be thinking of voting for them.Highlight their numerous failures in government and their nonsensical statements, starve them of all the positive publicity you can, consign them to their own bins.

It was your choice. You chose to do it and you're dealing with the consequences. But you should vote Green if you want better public transport and better planning and less one offs, then you wouldn't be so car reliant.

Theres nothing normal about the GP voting base,its the usual mix of shrewd business people,guilt ridden rich suburbanites,crusties,hippies, and a new influx of indoctrinated converts who flock around the new "religion".

Now, with that in mind take a look at the title of this thread. If this green agenda cannot even come up with costings for their hare-brained schemes, what does that say about their grasp of economics If you choose to ignore economics based on nothing other than an ideology, then how are Green policies not going to destroy this country ?

Btw. you do not have to wait for a publicly available source. Costs for these green dreams are kept so much in the dark you could easily believe they are mushrooms, but luckily the U.K. is a bit more open on the subject. and where the E.S.B. offshore plan is concerned, we know that from verified figures of U.K. construction costs for just the offshore section alone is €83 Billion based on the average cost. Based on one of their more expensive wind-farms it would be €120 Billion.

In what universe that cost, for just the of the offshore construction, for a population of 5 Million does that make any financial sense ?

What are you on about, you just told a rural dweller "tough ****" that he had no services and to move to the city, do ye want the country side depopulated so ye can ramble without hindrance and having to put up with pesky farmers or god forbid "one off rural dwellers".

There is nothing holistic about the greenies policy, it sets out to demonise and marginalise certain sectors of society, to berate and browbeat them into submission and make them adhere to the new "religion" .No room for dissent, reminds me of former times in this country when another theocracy ruled.

who has been browbeaten into submission you mad yoke? the greens have little power and will be gone after the next election. i wonder who you lot will blame for all your ills then. no doubt sinn fein will get rid of carbon taxes too.

Interesting, and probably close to how we farm here now. Especially with dairy farming.

I doubt it will get any support from greens who want to cut the cattle numbers and have us all eating organically grown seeds and nuts rather than meat.

But nothing new in that, the green ideology has to be followed unquestioned regardless and any alternatives shouted down
