Opinions on replacing an old miraclebox with a newer supported image like Openvix single sat tuner and non 4k.

Wondering on box for an elderly person and any ideas please

Yes i was looking at that but been out of stock for a few days. I gave him a list of other boxes and he has decided on the Zgemma H11S 4K

check amazon as WOS may have a hefty delivery charge.

That is going to end up costing about 200 because of brexit.

WOS will remove UK VAT and hand it over to FEDEX , who will add EU VAT , Customs Charges , and FEDEX customer handling fees ..... about 150 euro extra all in.

Its simply not worth ordering from the UK anymore , and Amazon.DE is probably your best option , however the caveat there is that anything electrical is coming with an EU 2 pin plug and you are going to need an adaptor.

Well he was going to do the ordering so no idea when they land , yes i agree extra money when getting from UK.

I bought some spare adapters for those 2 pin plugs as never know when you need them.

Never thought about Amazon DE and forgot about German suppliers but less sat boxes out there as might be chip issues.

The Octagon has a single satellite tuner so you could not watch/record different sat channels at the same time.

The Gigablue has no terrestrial (Saorview) tuner.

The gigablue you need to buy the terrestrial tuner, which is out of stock from what I can see in most places but I believe you can use an external terrestrial tuner connected via USB
