Free/cheap SIM

I need a phone number but as I use WIFI and no calls 95% of the time I really don't need a data/calls deal. Anyone found something like this? I don't mind paying €5/month or so for the number and a few GBs. Lycamobile have what they call a free SIM but when you go through the process they want your card number and then demand at least €5 to start - which, err isn't free so I am sceptical about the small print.

I ordered a free sim few weeks ago and didn’t have to pay anything. Just don’t add any bundle in the previous screen and click next.

I stand to be corrected, but I was under the impression that Lyca didn't allow for tethering.

Yup. No issues, it was posted out few days later with €0 cost.

If you pop into any Asian or Indian shops and ask them for free Lyca sims most will have some and give them to you for free too.

I picked up a lyca sim in a shop on saturday. They now need a topup to be able to receive calls or texts from anyone. I had to put on a €5 voucher topup onto it before I could receive any calls and after that i got a text saying my service was activated.

Does Lyca SIM card automatically get deactivated after it hasn't been used for calls or texts for over a certain number of days?
