body cameras for...anyone?

There are plans for body cameras for gardai. Can anyone wear a body camera going around the town or city? what is the difference between that and a dash cam

Suppose you can. wouldn’t be any different than wearing a GoPro or using your phone.

I think for Gardai it needs legislation as it may be required as evidence in court and similar. It’s also a change to their official loadout. May be wrong on that though.

the issue is iccl

has been for years, i am aware of internal study's and research carried out approximately 7 or 8 years ago but it was blocked by this group for what ever reason .....

Why would the ICCL be able to block the introduction of bodycams in the Gardai - the ICCL hardly have that authority to do so, do they? I'm sure there are other reasons why the Gardai are so slow to wear bodycams.

Ask them or read the link . ICCL have plenty political and lobby power

apart from the financial aspects of it no one else has an issue , in spite of the recent promises i would say they are still a few years away for everyone , although the way numbers are falling at the min ......
