Query on Atlantic Electric water heater.

    I just moved into a new council apartment with an Atlantic under sink glass lined electric water heater.

    This is something new to me. NOTE. The heating and shower in the apartment are electric.

    This electric water heater thing is new to me.

    So the only thing I can see myself using it for is washing delf, and shaving.

    According to what I see on websites, these should be left on all the time, unless some issue occurs.

    But is it cheaper than say boiling water in an electric kettle, lets say 6 times a day.

    These are basically electric kettles left on all day, so no, leave it off and boil a kettle for dishes and you will save on your electric bill. They are somewhat well insulated so once hot the thermostat turns off water heater until it cools down over a number of hours.

    Electricity prices are double they were a year ago so try reduce your electricity consumption any way you can. Water heating is a big electric user.
