Have watched a few games on RTE2 TV and have to say the coverage is quite good.

The TV set is nice and bright and the studio presenters I have seen, Tony O’Donohue and Peter Collins are

keeping things moving along nicely.

The studio co commentators tend to drone on a bit which is perhaps understandable and the commentators we have out there Darragh and George are solid and experienced.

The co-commentators out there Ronnie Whelan and Ray Houghton seem to have only a passing knowledge of the tenses but hey, one can grit your teeth and ignore that, not a really that big a deal

Best of the studio panel imo. are Kevin Doyle and Didi Hamman…..Kenny C is good but needs to slow down a bit.

All in all its a good production I feel .

Be interesting to see if they can keep it up for the full competition.

RTE's coverage of these tournaments has always been better than the BBC and ITV where it just seems like an excuse to fly everyone and their extended families out for an extended holiday.

and quit this shît of having them standing for one segment of punditry, sitting for the next, then standing again…sitting…

the fück is the bastarding point of that ? Just looks so awkward and uncomfortable….

As I see it George, Darragh, Ronnie and RaY are the only ones over there, at this stage.

I don’t mind Kelly, certainly better on the ears than some I could think of.

Agree totally with this standing ,sitting, stuff, awkward and uncomfortable is a good descriptor.

Even Liam Brady said don’t putt him standing beside Didi whose 6’2” versus 5’7” !!

Kerr was doing both up to a few years ago, must have signed an exclusive deal with VM.

It's a shame, always love hearing the great man on co-commentary.

You can't blame them for snapping him up, the 'Great Man' is right! He would be brilliant for all these group games with little known facts on teams/players etc..
