Has anyone received quotes per sq foot/metre for new a new build recently?

Varies massively. 120 to 160/ sq foot. Keep pricing around.

4 months is an eternity in todays rapidly changing environment. You would be looking at more like 1,500/sq meter now in mid West based on what I'm hearing now, material and labour costs have come down a lot from the peak in mid 2022.

How true is this though?

Work is starting to slow down for sure from talking to my contacts. But it could be spring/summer 23 before the market really sees that knock on.

Chap i know was qouted 432,000 for 240sqm in south Meath recently.

Ive told him to either wait or build a smaller house. To be fair its a crazy size if a house for 4 people anyway.

Yeah fair enough. You’re right on the size of it. Why people think they need 2 living rooms, snugs and a WIW in every bedroom beats me. Adds up to some bill by the time it’s all finished.

That’s a 600k house easily at that rate.
