How to deal with mould

There's mould in a friends room who is moving out. They want to know how to deal with it. Do they just scrub it away with mould remover in a spray thing?

It's mostly at the corner of the wall and ceiling on the window side.

It will likely bleach the paint/wallpaper underneath, so go gentle on it. And always make sure to wear a mask & gloves and do this with a window open, then leave window open for a few hours to ventilate, stay out of that room.

Even just the stuff in the spray bottle from the likes of tesco? I've sprayed that on walls and although it has a very strong smell, it didn't bleach the paint

Well, try it on a corner see what it does. If you're trying to actually get rid of the mould you might want to use something harsh and scrub good :)

If you're just worried the landlord will throw a fuss go light and easy. and expect it to come back.

If you want this mould gone for good you have to nuke this stuff, spray heavy scrub hard, ventilate, rinse repeat, ventilate, paint over. I've done this once and with a normal enough tesco cillit bang but that stuff was taking the paint off yeah.
