In 2023, the BBC will be closing all of their regional SD channels and launching them all in HD on all platforms, and after that (at a currently undisclosed date) they will be closing all national SD services so the corporations output will be fully HD only. ITV have already started doing this. Channel 4 have launched their regions in HD but no spinoffs yet FTA in HD. Channel 5 will probably never be HD apart from the main channel.
