Clocked Japanese Import

I've just noticed that a Japanese Import car I bought 5 months ago has been clocked and was previously in a collision.

I bought this car from a small part time dealer, he also works as a taxi driver.

Just wondering if anyone has similar experience and if I've any hope of getting a refund. The cars mileage is still significantly lower than it was prior to the clocking, so I still can prove that it was clocked.

The dealer operates out of a shared lot and therefore would only be there on appointment, so that provably complicates matters. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Maybe get in touch with the national consumer agency. They might be able to advise.

Incidentally how did you only find out now that it was clocked? I would take the mileage on a Japanese import with a pinch of salt unless the car came with the original auction sheet which states the mileage at the time of auction sale.

When I bought it, I only checked the Irish cartell site. I assumed the Japanese equivalent would be in Japanese and therefore I didn't pursue this route. Instead I got a mechanic to take a look at it and he said it was in good nick.
My wife watched a docu recently about fukushima and started to get concerned about possible radioactive contamination. So I started doing some more research and found a Japanese equivalent of cartell but in English. The silver lining - it's not contaminated....
