I just recieved an email this morning about the 3.0 OTA update from Volkswagen, did everyone get this email ? or is this a positive sign that the OTA is on the way?

I got it too but I had also singed up for the early access, nothing on the car anyways

Got the email as well, nothing concrete in there and the FAQ link was broken.

As I said before, we might see it released to Germany in 2022 so we'll probably be sometime in 2023

no email for me, apart from my wecharge invoice.

Do you have to confirm you want the update in the email?

I didn't see anything about confirming the update, you just need to be signed up to We Connect, same as previous updates

Just realised how much battery my climate control (a/c off) is using.

    100% battery: Heater off: 518kms

    100% battery: Heater on: 400kms

    Climate control set to 21.5°C

Didn't realise how much of a drain (20%) the heating system had on an ev!!!

Simply put, an ICE runs at ~100C and so the excess heat is easily used for car cabin temperature in colder weather.

In an EV, a high amount of battery energy is required to run both heating and cooling.

We usually just put the seats and steering wheel heating on. There hasn’t been a really cold morning since we got it

    Dear All,

The ID. software 3.0 OTA wave is ready to be rolled out. If you have sent us an "I want OTA 3.0"-email, you will receive an email with more information within the next few days.

Again, we would like to thank you for your interest in the over-the-air update and for your continuous feedback.

Yeap think 19 would be more suitable/ efficient.

Heat steering then came on by mistake didn't know what was happening lol.

Heated steering wheel is more efficient than the air con. And very much appreciated these days

Heated steering wheel is sooooooo good! Far better than heated seats. Had it in both my Leafs too. Essential option for me now.

Hi guys, I'm getting some error faults on my ID.4 while driving, not all the time but they're happening and I'm wondering are ye guys experiencing the same faults?

They do reset and disappear when I turn on/ off the car but I'm wondering what is triggering them or is it a software bug that needs to be addressed by VW in their next update?

    1. Lane Assist is currently unavailable.

    2. ACC is currently unavailable.

    3. Parking distance control unavailable.

Is anyone else experiencing these error/ faults?

    Thanks

ah yeah, condensation on the sensors seems to trigger these warnings regularly. They go away after a while driving.

    Okay.....interesting.

Good to know I'm not alone, thanks.

Recently when I sit heavily into the car it flashes a warning that the parking brake is on

Glad to know the car now thinks I'm so overweight that I could cause the car to roll away by leaning on it 😭

The blind won’t close or open on the sunroof now! 😞

Are you sure it isn't the bad weather? Hard to tell between the grey skies and the roof of the car

Jokes aside, was the car definitely on? The sun shade only works when the HV battery is on, you'll need to press the brake pedal first

    Hope it's an easy fix

Yup was driving the car and swiping the button as you’d normally do and it won’t move at all. Went into the infotainment setting for the shade and it says “function not available”

Damn, never had that one before. Any chance a restart fixed it?

    A restart on the infotainment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 13,567 ✭✭✭✭the_amazing_raisin

Just a restart of the car. Lock it and let it shut down completely then start up again

Hopefully it works, a lot of the issues the car encounter seems to be a case of turning it off and on again

Not exactly the most inspiring part of the software...
