Yellow gale and wind warnings abound, A rather comforting familiarity about the wind music when safe indoors and abed. And when not needing or wanting to go off island.. Nothing too extreme.

    West Mayo offshore

Another wild and wuthering night but no malice in it. Huffing and puffing all the long night long. Gusting and growling.

    West Mayo offshore.

Sounds horrendous. Thank god I'm out of the country and spending my Haloween in much more clement parts.

I rather enjoy it as I am safe inside. It is melodic in its own way. And most of the time the deep peace and silence out here are a sheer beauty so the odd aberration is OK! No traffic etc. Just sweet hush

Will make for a very disappointing Halloween night for many folks.

Tonight would have been a good night for the festivities, tomorrow will be rough.

Won't the rain of cleared most of the country by night fall?

Agree, Graces, about peace and silence. I can imagine you must have that in abundance and I envy you. I live in a busy congested town so along with bad weather it's not always the most pleasant, but it does have its good moments. But right now I'm in a quiet place and enjoying nice weather so I'm enjoying the break. Winter will be long enough when I return.

Just over 15mm here in Kerry, overcast and down to a drizzle now ,brighter in the West.

Just discovered all the widows open in my car since yesterday evening ! must have pressed down on the unlock button for too long only to open down all the windows , relatively new car for me and still finding out some of the features 🫣 absolutely drenched, lucky I have a dehumidifier, will need a good few hours drying.

This is certainly one of the wettest periods of time I can recall for quite a while here in Kilkenny and the south east. Crop planting has obviously all stalled now and cattle/cows are mainly indoors which is very early for the town of year. Least the reservoirs will certainly be filled up again after the dry summer

We've more or less gotten away with it here all day in South Wicklow but a few short heavy showers have started now.

Started raining shortly after 1pm here (SW Laois), had a massive downpour around 4.30 really hoping that is the worst of it over.

The rain has passed just in time for the kids. A lot of rain today all the same. Happy Halloween! 🎃

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Most people in West Dublin will probably disagree with that statement.

The latest radar imagery would suggest that the rain has reached Dublin city centre.
