If that's how it pans out, he'll be gone by then I reckon and may well sooner. There has to be serious disquiet in the upper echelons of Russian society, approaching the anniversary of this outrageous invasion will raise serious questions for the current Russian leadership.

The autumn in Europe has gone very badly for the regime so far btw. The continent has seen temperatures of 18-20C for nearly the entire month of October. The Kremlin and their supporters were hoping and praying that the autumn would have got off to a very cold start.

Nothing really new here - Patrushev was a new name to me, but the others have been mooted before. It goes on to talk about the Wagner group head Orc.

Mr Galyamov’s list of potential candidates includes Dmitry Patrushev, the son of Nikolai Patrushev, who is the head of the Security Council and one of the chief ideologues of the regime. Mr Patrushev junior is a former minister. Though part of the family, he could be seen as a fresh face because of his youth. More familiar possibilities include Sergei Kiriyenko, the deputy chief of staff at the Kremlin; Mr Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow; and Mikhail Mishustin, the prime minister, who could make an alliance with some of the security men and play the role of a moderate negotiator with the West.

Just as a sort of a blanket answer to statements like this (not the first of its kind, wont be the last for sure), beyond some kind warfare sycophants out there, the majority of civilised people decry having to fight like this to defend the freedoms of a nation facing destruction. But the alternatives are arguably much worse. We want the war to end in a way that will ensure the safety of those innocents who have been threatened by the ambitions of the Russian Federation and its leaders. It involves defeating the Russian army, and depleting thier ability to wage war. Unfortunately, that involves the death of Russian kids who barely know better. But they cannot be allowed to succeed. Russian success delivers the Ukrainian people to death, mass rape and slavery. Thereafter an emboldened Russian would gear up for the next round in another nation, and continue this likely triggering a global war in the process.

My dream scenario is for the Russians to come to their senses and simply remove their forces from Ukraine…today if possible. No more Russian kids need to die…just send them home. But the Russian government won’t do that…they’ve painted themselves into a corner and are more than willing to destroy both countries rather than admit what they are doing is wrong.

Russia must be defeated militarily to remove the force of arms from them. Leave them no choice than to leave, and with any luck we’ll get there before too many people are needlessly killed. But the Russians must leave…it is the only way we can be sure of peace in Ukraine, or Europe as a whole.

Ukraine is perfectly entitled to fight a propaganda battle after being invaded by the neighbouring fascist dictatorship without warning or provocation. It's almost as if people are surprised that they might wish to use skilful propaganda techniques in wishing to repel the invaders.

New poster starting with "both sides". Are they getting thicker or sloppier? Which idiot from page 1 has used up all their accounts and now has to resort to creating a new rereg. With the excessively long posts I guess it's whoever was forest last week.

One undisputed fact remains though, if there were no Russian Military on the territory of Ukraine, there would not be any misinformation or propaganda coming from there, now would there be?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,453 ✭✭✭Wolf359f

There's a UN report detailing the horrific crimes Russian soldiers committed on Ukrainian citizens. The report is only from findings from Feb to March, so you can only imagine more and more reports coming out over time. The victims ranged from 4-80.

I'm sure back in March when Ukraine was reporting on these crimes you dismissed them like you are doing now?

Well I'm quite in agreement with the killing of redbacks that are in a country where they shouldn't be.

If they don't want to die they can go home.

Ukraine is claiming to have wiped out 950 russian troops yesterday,71,500 in total

A rate of attrition that Russia can't even sustain

Oh, no. You referenced Yahoo news, and Business Insider as proof of your claims. Provide the links. Otherwise, you're lying.

So negative claims against Russia are accepted without without the need for verification or criticism .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,713 ✭✭✭✭Igotadose

obviously not. But 'new poster' made claims without links. I'm merely asking him to back up his point since he pretended to copy from online sources.

Unless, he's lying. I think at this point, he is.

Still lying. Where are the links from yahoo news and business insider? You know, the ones you invented.

And, Ukraine did fire their ombudsmen. Unlike the arseclowns on RuSSia TV every night with Satanists, etc.

But, I guess you have no problem with them.

Well I reported on that, and the reasons for it, but hardly anyone seemed to notice. Here it is again:

The operation to liberate Kherson will last until the end of November, said Kyrylo Budanov, head of the GUR

This is discussed in an interview with the Western edition of The Drive by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyryl Budanov.

    - Most likely, the operation to capture Kherson will last until the end of next month. Currently, the most prepared and combat-ready Russian units are in Kherson. A large part of them are the airborne troops of the Russian Federation, the Russian special forces and the marines, that is, the most combat-capable units that Russia has. These units make up the backbone of the group, which is also strengthened by the mobilized composition, said the head of the GUR.

The number of Russian troops in or near Kherson is around 40,000:

A total of 40,000 Russian troops are stationed on the western side of the Dnipro river in Kherson with no way out of the conflict. These troops could soon be decimated by the major Ukrainian counteroffensive, retirer Lieutenant General Mark Hertling added.

Give them credit, they are obviously working on it. How to make firing him angrily and him being found dead a short time later, not look like an execution, is bound to be tricky.

We dont have a limited simplistic view.

Russia had illegally invaded Ukraine in a war of conquest plunder and aggression.

Russia is committing war crimes and atrocities including horrific sexual abuse. Ukraine is not.

Even you dont deny it though you deploy full arsenal of both sides weasel words.

So there whatever about the truth of specific instances - and I full believe the ukranian officials are sincere in their claims even where hard evidence is difficult to obtain in wartime.

We have the essential truth of the conflict.

Remind us again... did we have a simplistic view of previous russian war crimes such as the downing of civiliam jet.. or was the western media view vindicated?

You will offcourse find the Kremlin trolls and Ayatollah trolls working together, same with Chinese trolls as well, they have one thing in common, hate the west.

This is a pack of lies.

She was not fired for that reason.

She did not make up the claims

She reported what had been disclosed to a helpline for victims of sexual abuse. It is clear she sincerely believed the abuses had happened. And it is quite probable they did.

Every time Ukraine pokes the Bear the Bear bites back hard, they really need to kill that Bear. Don't just scratch that bridge, reduce it to rubble, don't just scratch that fleet, sink every one.

I got a shock when I saw this, since I only read about him being dismissed yesterday, but having done some googling it seem to be fake news.

Thats a very reasonable theory, but I think there is a simpler one and it fits a pattern. By focusing on the UK, they take away from the credibility of the Ukrainians as a force that is beating them. Our ships were hit because of the UK; our tanks are suffereing because of advanced western weapons; Ukrainian troops are being trained by NATO.

All of it is intended to discredit or distract from Ukrainians and their native millitary capabilities and astounding levels of professionalism, innovation and rapid adaptation in technology and tactics.

Here is a typical Ukrainian dugout:
