Hi all. I have a hive system installed that controls my radiators and hot water. I also have a shower pump that is fed from the cylinder. The pump burned out and when I got it replaced the gut said I needed a cylinder stat installed on cylinder., something that was not done when we bought the house.

I am wondering if it is possible to put a cylinder stat on a cylinder and how it controlling the hive valve when the temperature gets too warm? Thanks in advance.

It will sit between the valve and the Hive remote relay. Even if the Hive is calling for heat for the cylinder, it won't matter as the cylinder stat (if up to temperature) will have broken the connection to the zone valve.

Excellent thanks Wearb. Good to know. I will contact a plumber now and see if they will do it for me.
