Thereby proving that Knox's borderline 'swinging arm' that cost him the yellow card was barely anything at all

BTW, I saw loads of high tackles that were not penalised by both sides this evening

Because you are. Your posts are all embittered nonsense about stuff you cannot possibly know

The referee will be chastised for that on his monday morning review

Well that's because like munsters rugby skills, their foul play execution is just as crap

Yeah, it can be incredibly frustrating at times. I was in premium tonight for it, and had a mixed group of men in their 50s behind me on a jolly, some in Munster gear, others in Leinster. Between them collectively, they had zero knowledge of (as in didn't know who these players were) Ciaran Frawley, Caelan Doris, Dan Sheehan and Jack O'Donoghue (guy in a Munster jumper called him O'Mahony all night, for example when he was engaging with the ref etc). It happens. Rugby still isn't in a good enough position to turn away their cash.

i agree. We need to improve our accuracy at both ball handling, and smashing the opposition

Your post is where this originated from:

Reregistration accounts and posters arguing in bad faith have ruined this place.

My point is that poster’s calling players “a scumbag” belong on that list too.

I'm just happy that in the course of the last couple of pages, I've been proven correct in my assessments.

Pointless back-and-forth with no intention of actually discussing anything, just drive discussion into the gutter.

Not a word of a lie, the guy in front of me was reading poetry about 20 mins in and the ball was in play.

Not checking his phone, reading poetry.

If this is directed at me, all I’ll say is if you’re gonna complain about the level of discourse maaaaaybe don’t call a player a scumbag.

    I think that’s pretty reasonable.

I also think I’m gonna need more Anchorman meme’s….

That's not arguing in good faith. You decided to not engage and instead went into accusations of hypocrisy.

It's posts like this and those excusing Jean Kleyn's actions which have led to the deterioration of this place.

I have two must haves on Leinster game day in the stadium. My champagne flute and my Yeats copy. I can't help it if I have standards.

I mean he did run into him. Thats factually correct.

So, i don’t know. Get off your weird high horse maybe.

Ryan went into clear out a ruck about 10 minutes before that, in the Leinster 22 with his head, no arms involved at all and diving in that wasn't even looked at, maybe you should tell Ryan about his concussion issues.

I literally responded to a point you made.

    You might not like it.

That doesn’t make it bad faith.

Fwiw, it’s also the reduced modding that has led to the deterioration of this place. Posts calling players “scumbags” would’ve been infracted before.

Let’s just leave it there, Clegg.

I'd say there might have been 10-20K event junkies that were there because there was a big event on and they might as well and they couldn't say they cared about the Rugby never mind the try bonus point.

That said Leinster playing Munster in the Aviva is a major financial success. Between an extra 25,000 fans compared to the RDS and being able to sell corporate box tickets I wouldn't be surprised if Leinster earned an extra million or more into their pockets (as opposed to the rent and the costs to open the stadium) compared to if the game was in the RDS. Not to mention rent to the IRFU.

Moving games to the Aviva is a big part of the success of Leinster as it provides significant additional financial muscle.

Yes it has an effect on the atmosphere but thats how you keep a rugby team going. It pays salaries and allows for signings.

And Kleyn jumped into him every bit as much. There was literally no other possible outcome to what happened there. Osborne didn’t have time to adjust his run or slow/stop. Kleyn was never going to end up doing anything other than landing full force into Osborne. And the crazy, crazy lengths that some people here will go to in order to twist that is bizarre but is also part of what has turned this forum from a worthwhile place to come and chat to a bit of a dumpster fire.

Every bit as much is literally untrue. The video is further up this thread.

Agree, if he’d blocked the ball there would have been a question about Osborne taking him out in the air. Duty of care definitely relevant when you run straight into a player in the air.

Good discussion here about the incident. Seemingly (reading between the lines) Mr Cullen will be looking for the electric chair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,401 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

It's bad faith because you're arguing something different to what was being discussed.

Everything was centred around the discussion of Kleyn elbowing Osborne in the head; people trying to justify his actions; and making points trying to put the blame on the injured party. You then waded in, making accusations of hypocrisy and engaging in your own bad faith argument.

We’ll find out anyway soonish. They will look at it and if its as obvious as people in this thread are making it out to be, he’ll get a lengthy ban.

Can understand Cullen being displeased. Baird was taken out in the air by the Sharks and suffered a concussion. They also received a red card for a high hit on a Leinster player. Now we've had another player taken out by a high shot.

If we need to talk about history, we may as well bring up Dave Kearney’s head injuring POC’s foot.

It's bad faith because you're arguing something different to what was being discussed.

You seem to think I’ve invented your post complaining about the discourse here.

Why do you think I’m not entitled to respond to that point?

I get it, you think it’s ok to call a player a scumbag and simultaneously complain about the level of discourse here. Let’s just leave it.

**** the bad faith! **** everything!

Back to the match. Leinster were poor, imo. Multiple knock ons and some poor discipline. Basic handling errors are killing them. They create openings and mismatches and then execute poorly.

I thought for Munster, Barron was the pick of the litter. Good performance by Loughman too. Scannell did well for his 1st match in a while. I think Casey would have helped the cause. Murray is too slow! Rowntree will instill a good system and it may take a while. The talent is there and I would expect a much better Munster later on in the season

For Leinster, Deegan was very impressive. I was questioning his selection at 6 and I was surprised. I thought he was motm! Penny was very good and maybe he can leapfrog Connors? Sheehan must be running on empty. It's mad how many minutes he's played.

Rob Russell will get a contract! He's going to be a good player. He was extremely good again. Is RB nursing an injury? This is the 2nd match in a row that his place kicking looks labored.

I think Munster will be fairly happy with the youngsters. McGraths try was down to Kilcoyne and Healy. Awful attempt to tackle.

Leo will be concerned with the constant sloppiness. It's becoming more of a problem@

To all of you. I post in good faith! If you disagree you can piss up a rope.
