Mods if in the wrong group please move.

I have an Octogon sf8008 box down stairs and all of a sudden the remote stopped working. I changed the batteries but no luck, so I set about getting a new remote.

I have a Zgemma H9 up stairs so I moved that down stairs, while awaiting the replacement remote.

Before moving the Zgemma, I made sure that it's remote was working. When I got the Zgemma set up downstairs, it's remote would not work.

I set up the Octogon upstairs and you've guessed it, it's remote worked fine.

I have never come across anything like it, it seems, that all of a sudden, remotes will not work downstairs.

    Any ideas ?

    Dave

Have any changes been made to LED light bulbs in the vicinity?

Or perhaps another remote in the room with a stuck button. It happened to me in the past when a book was resting on top of a remote.

    Thanks for the replies lads,

"Have any changes been made to LED light bulbs in the vicinity?" Nothinh indoors and I live in a rural unchanging area.

"Or perhaps another remote in the room with a stuck button. It happened to me in the past when a book was resting on top of a remote."

    Not that either.

Tried Zgemma remote yesterday morning and it worked fine. I took the Octogon back downstairs and it is now working perfectly. I can see no change in anything to cause the remotes to start working again. A bit spooky coming up to Halloween.

Would love to know what happened, but at least all is well now,

    Thanks

What kind of light do you have there?

I know of a couple of instances of flourescent bulbs interfering with remotes, in the past.

Maybe you have an old style cfl bulb in a bulb holder ?

    Hi Delta Lima,

Just standard bulbs and they haven't changed in years. Everything is still running fine now, I guess I will never know what happened.

    Thanks
