But the other bands I mentioned like The Cure are bigger artists playing the exact same venue. Your post is tosh.

The Cure have good support good production same venue etc etc, it's a like for like comparison.

    Thanking you.

Saw FFAF in The Ambassador back in 2005 or something like that. Don't remember much of the show, but I do remember a distinct feeling of disappointment. Also, Matt took his tshirt off only to be met with a collective groan from the crowd. Oof...

Speaking of Blink though, has anyone listened to Edging? Put it on this morning and man, I know you can't really expect much from them at this stage, and there are worse songs out there, but damn do they lean hard on that autotune. Hoping this gig is crammed with anything from Cheshire Cat to TOYPaJ. Even the self-titled. Flashes of 2004.

    The cure standing 82.

    Blink standing 90.

So a like for like price.

standing seems to be gone in presales now (not available in the Spotify one)

Wouldn’t shock me if there was none left

Story so far are big enough in the Uk to sell most kid size venues

They won’t be on a cheap fee for support on this tour.

for 2022 arena tickets are reasonably priced

Id say a lot of standing was held back. Ticketmaster are just doing the classic thing of flogging the most expensive tickets and the ones in the corner or up the back first to get people early doors to buy them.

I'm holding out for Monday anyway. Its a risk but I hate sitting in the back of the 3 arena.

real nostalgia vibes after reading the bands you mentioned, kerrang tv was a real go to back in the day

seen limp bizkit in house of blues in vegas around 2014 (supported by Machine gun kelly funnily enough), great gig would love to see them again

Seem green day loads of times now, always a good show.

Loads from that era id still like to see though. Looking forward to Blink-182 as havent seen them yet

all the rich kids here with kerrang and 'the channels'!

I got all my music from OG Napster, friends ripped CDs and MP3 CDs bought from pirates. 'enema of the state' was on one of these MP3 CDs but I can't for the life of me remember where I got it. it wasn't bought from pirates. the album really grew and me and was perfect for a 15 year old. one of my all time favourites was 'mutt', hope they play it but don't think they will

Spent many a Saturday and Sunday over at whoever had a free house with Kerrang playing on loop for hours. Who remembers when Tribute by Tenacious D came out. I'd say it was played 3 or 4 times and hour at one stage, creed my sacrifice also. It was fantastic at the time and introduced me to so many more bands than I ever would have heard if I just picked up CD's in town.

There would be certain bands that were rarely played and when they would pop up it was nearly seen as a treat.

Think there was a punk channel for a while and then Scuzz also.

Blink 182 are one of the few bands from back then that I haven't seen yet. I had tickets to them in 2003 or 2004 I think it was in the point and they cancelled.

Edit: just checked and it was 2001.

Tribute and my sacrifice were crackers.

    remember POD stain’d and saliva.

Remember AFIs 'Girls Not Grey' and 'Miss Murder'

HIM- Wings Of A Butterfly (a lot of HIM hoodies around back in the day)

No apostrophe in Staind 😉 (my first ever gig was them in the point on the Break the Cycle tour). Aaron was an insufferable prick back then too.

Seen Blink the last time they played here with Tom, was a really good gig. Not sure how his voice is now though!

They have a new song out and it's not great. Not last album with Matt bad but not last album with Tom good. I actually really liked Neighbourhoods!!!

How does Spotify presale work? I have a premium account?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,261 ✭✭✭Jofspring

Spotify sent out an email with the password. It was EDGING.

Tickets for the presale were very poor. Sections in the corner and the back few rows.

Where do you enter the password for the presale? I can't seem to navigate the Ticketmaster website on my phone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,261 ✭✭✭Jofspring

Through the app anyway when you go to the specific gig, just above where you search for your tickets it says enter code to unlock tickets.

Bad Religion saw them twice at festivals, blinding stuff bust out 20 songs of very good quality in under an hour cannot deny them.

Blink I sort of liked back in the day but watched their set at Reading on TV I believe 2014 imagine not long before Tom left pitiful stuff altogether not something I'd risk 100 quid on despite not seen them before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,650 ✭✭✭Wrongway1985

Bizkit are ultimate festival band kinda set they play at their own shows but saw some guest spots where Steel Panther did a Van Halen cover song for a birthday I think it was and Sen Dog joined them from 'Insane in the Brain'.

Papa Roach surprised me live as recordings live I heard back in the day were iffy but when I saw(2013) solid! Haven't liked the albums since but I believe last times they were here couldn't even sell out the Academy??

IIRC Jimmy Eat World were due to support Blink 182 on that tour. After Blink 182 cancelled, Jimmy Eat World did their own tour and played TBMC, I think on the same night that Blink 182 were due to play.

Jimmy was 2002. I saw them twice back then , TBMC at the start of the year and then later in the year in the Ambassador with Fenix Tx in support six months later. I've seen them4 or 5 times after that and the Ambassador was my favourite.

Jesus Jimmy Eat World that's a right blast from the past. Love 'Sweetness'

Wouldn't mind seeing them live, maybe there due to play here soon.

    Yeah, that was some gig

My daughter, who was 17 at the time, went missing during the gig.....looked up and there she was, crowdsurfing towards Fred, found this vid a few years back and uploaded it.

The Kerrang Tour, i was on second barrier, Fred came up to me during nookie i think, stood on the barrier, right in front of me, and said you up for this, i grabbed his leg and kept him steady whilst he sang the whole song, at the end, he just looked at me, said thanks so fuckin much and fistbumped

Apparently he always looks for a huge unit when he does this, protects most of the crowd from him 😂

lol@ at grown men salivating at the thought of seeing a mickey mouse pop punk band that were crap 20 years ago and are still crap now. Meanwhile the prestigious classy and musically superior in every way Placebo hardly get mentioned. There really is no accounting for taste!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,264 ✭✭✭Mike3549

    Placebo? But arc.... Nevermind

lol. Not in my day it wasn't. If you liked Blink 182 you kept it a secret to yourself.

    Why?

I knew people who liked both.

I like Slayer, not everyone like Slayer though, and that's OK.
