Hello, sorry if this is wrong section, newly signed up,move if wish.

Just wanted to ask, but last year a lot of talk in media of the new center in Baldonnell Dublin that Amazon said would be opened in Spring 2022 and how this would resolve issues regarding UK and having to order from Amazon Germany etc. Just googled to see if the place is up and running yet, would have thought it big news if so, anyone know if its to open soon or pushed back due to delays?

and sorry for using the word fulfillment, when we know they are tough places to work, hey maybe that qualifies this thread for this forum. anyways hello and thanks.

just heard about this on the news. Does this mean some stuff will ship from Ireland going forward?

and returns will be to an Irish address?

True did you see that UK documentary/mocumentary Was for a "Insert" food store. Shocking practices. Esp them getting rid off you if your a temp just saying to the agency need a replacement. Unheard of amounts of ambulances called and that.

With the location, they may cut a deal with the government to use Baldonnell as a hub for Prime Air delivery.

Fast forward 10 years, and Baldonnell is now Jeff Bezos International.

I agree horrible attrition rates at big tech companies and distributors like this. Some never think of the cost when clicking add to basket and buy. It should be illegal for designed obsolescence, none removable batteries for most people. I could harp on but just one of my bug bears. Tech has reached a level where were replacing stuff that could be designed to last for 10 years minimum. And white good for example for 20-30 with modular parts that can be upgraded for more energy efficiency.

I can’t even remember the name of the program, but a good few years ago I watched some UK documentary/expose and haven’t bought anything from Amazon since. I have no issue with anyone becoming wealthy from a company they set up. However, paying minimum wage especially with those working conditions whilst becoming a Billionaire just isn’t right at all.
