Switching from non resident to resident bank account

Can a non resident bank account be switched to a resident account after taking up residence in Ireland? Would it require registering a new account, or does one merely provide proof of new address and the existing account continues?

Hi there,
Thanks for getting in touch with us here.
The existing account can remain open so there is no requirement to open a new account.
You can update the address by following the steps on the link below and it will then become a resident account.
