I too have just lit a fire in the sitting room but I consider that to be putting the heating on as I'm introducing heat to the house that wouldn't be present otherwise.

Rain is clearing a bit now in Cork City but my God, I haven’t seen rain like that in quite some time - so intense! Think it’s supposed to clear by 6.30/7.00

You're in the Northside if I remember correctly? Just had a very intense shower, heaviest of the day. Probably working its way over to you now!

None of those roads were like that when I drove through earlier! Lucky its a Sunday as that'd be fun on a rush hour.

Look up "Rufford Ford" on youtube for a bit of a laugh at other peoples attempts to get through water.

Absolute right off of a weekend. Already thinking of getting away for a few days in nov/dec to Spain or the Canaries.

Today was actually a grand day in Dublin until about 3pm.

There wasn't even a whiff of a breeze so it was very pleasant out and about in park once you were wrapped up.

Great fun had by all the kids collecting the bumper crop of conkers in Newbridge House.

Theres a lot of flooding around Cork - but in Cobh we've only had 30mm today. It wasn't as bad, by a long shot, as other rainy days.

I'd suspect a lot/most of the flooding is from blocked drains due to leaves. But it is bad out there and a manky day to be outside.

Wind picking up in South Wicklow now. Was a nice day for most of it today, odd showers but mostly dry and mild.

North Wicklow. Strong wind and showers. The opposite of yesterday. And it's Sunday night. Work tomorrow. Time for the Glenroes 😀

After a calm day, very windy here now in NCD.

Just saw flooding there on news in Cork, looked awful.

Cork City - gee was out and about and so glad to get home with car intact.. well I hope its ok in the am - drove to some floodwater but took diversions where I could..

CCC clear the drains ffs.. the covers of man holes have been displaced due to gushing floodwater underground..

Sweet Jesus the rain is biblical at moment here in NCD.

That and wind means there might be very few Halloween decorations left in morning😏

Fairly monumental rain Dublin City Centre. Easily the biggest river down the street since moving here a year ago.

Yep, absolutely insane burst of rain and wind there in D9. Door nearly blew inwards, absolute torrents coming down it was like a flash flood getting going on the roads. But all over and quiet in a matter of 5 minutes.

First bit of remotely interesting weather that survived the journey over the Wicklow Mts. in years. Barely any meaningful rain today despite hours and hours under precip on the radar. You have to love a northerly traveling band of rain if you are based in Dublin.
