Yeah but it's a free for all over here can call Trump whatever they want if it's good enough for Biden then Mods need to apply the same logic to the Trump thread

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,540 ✭✭✭✭everlast75

    I repeat.

It's disputed that Joe has any mental impairment.

It's factually correct to say that Trump is now a cult leader.

    See the difference?

Lets be honest, United havent rivaled anyone in years.

another one of Trump's lackies due to be sentenced later this month (for ripping off Trump's own supporters).

I guess it takes one cult leader to recognise another.

    deflecting again I see.

You are the one who made the analogy. Why can't you back it up?

Well what people call and say about trump is factually correct, what some are calling Biden isn't, hence the difference.

Now if you want the mods to apply that type of logic to the thread you are asking them to suspend reality.

Utd are still the most successful club in England, the most valuable and have the largest fanbase.

Do you think there's a difference between an old man occasionally mis-speaking, stumbling on words (bearing mind he has suffered from stuttering his whole life) and simply sometimes forgetting things, and a person who believes Trump is still legally President, JFK Jr will be returning to be his running mate in 2024, and an Italian Security company used satellites to change vote counting machines?

Because if you agree there's a difference and understand that degree matters, then you can easily work out why the Biden thread has a rule on not calling him senile, and why this thread doesn't have a rule on calling the mentally challenged mentally challenged.

Please provide empirical evidence that supports your claim that Trump's supporters are mentally challenged, otherwise, it's just an opinion.

Biden has displayed a noticeable cognitive decline since his time as VP. Once again, just an opinion.

They believe he is still president. That is enough for me.

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

A 'noticeable cognitive decline' which included an absolute verbal wallopping of an egomaniac who still believes he is the President of the US.

Think about that very sentence and come back to be about noticeable cognitive declines.

As I repeat every time people come here pretending to be against 'both sides', the current US President, the one apparently in 'noticeable cognitive decline', only a few weeks ago said - "I love 'em man, they aint got no shame."

You are defending people who support a politician who according to you "became very unhinged in the last year of office". That's a direct quote from the Joe Biden thread. So they are supporting a very unhinged person. Doesn't that give you pause for thought?

I think the believers in the "Big Lie" fall into a few camps

You have the cynical manipulators like Ted Cruz etc. , who know full well it's nonsense, but they use it for their personal benefit. I'd also include all the "non-committal" GOP types in here where they won't call it out for the nonsense that it is for fear of the backlash and getting primaried.

Then you have the true believers , the types that go to Trump rallies in the hats and t-shirts etc. etc. - They are at best deluded and at worst , well we've seen some of the "worst" on January 6th and elsewhere - There are countless videos of these types being interviewed outside Trump rallies etc.

Is there a mental health element within that group? I think that is beyond doubt as to be able to thread together the stream of nonsense about the Elections and end up believing it is definitely something worthy of therapy of some kind.

The former group are utterly contemptible , spineless cowards willing to sacrifice anything in the pursuit/retention of power.

For the latter group I veer from contempt to pity or a mix of the two. On some levels these are people who have been largely left behind and abandoned by US society and they have fallen under the spell of a utter charlatan like Trump who has convinced them that he cares about them and will do something to make their lives better (he doesn't and he won't). There are also those that do believe the "deep state" nonsense and they are genuinely dangerous like the various "militia" types that have coagulated around the Trump movement.

This one is more just around the pushing of the Overton window. You've got everyone from the Republican party to Elon Musk rowing in behind Kanye West engaging in antisemitism. I'd be surprised to not see Trump joining the defense in near future.

And just FYI - That tweet is from the current Attorney General for Indiana , where he describes antisemitism as "Independent thinking & Opposing thought"

This is also a tweet from the official Indiana AG account , not his personal one..

To be fair , almost without exception the responses to the tweet are extremely unsupportive of his position.

Must be exhausting if you were a relatively normal public servant in the US having to take a side about shite Kanye says

I did laugh that it took him 6 hours to clarify that he isn't an anti semite

I think he ditched the analogy as I pointed out how ridiculous it was...

Perhaps because Biden doesn't go around calling everyone who doesn't agree with him names as TFG did.

If TFG can dish it out then he can take it, as can his cucks!

Most people vote on historical and tribal lines, especially for a President, you could have a scarecrow on the ballot and people would vote for it, because they always vote Republican/Democrat.

    Thats human nature.

It doesn't matter what lines "most" people vote on. Comparing politics to something as trite as supporting a football team says everything anyone needs to know about your lack of understanding of why the vast majority of people, inside and outside of America, view him as a cancerous tumour on the body politic, not only in the US but around the globe.

Imagine being such a horrible bastard that it would make people want Bush to get involved.

What does the future hold for Donald Trump?? As much as I hate to admit it he has a good chance of being president again ....

This is the sort of age we live in ... Trump and the Republican Party are responsible for 95% of America's problems and at least 50% of the world's problems as of 2022 ... Trump and them should be disgraced and defunct long ago ... but instead enough Americans consider them heroes and the solution to America's problems, problems the Republicans and Trump caused to begin with ... the Iraq war, the rise of ISIS, encouragement of far right uprising against the US government, defeating and then bringing back the Taliban, and arranging the reemergence of hardliners in Iran are some of the 'lovely' things the Republicans have done to the world ...

In fairness the Democrats are not much better ... they keep the same old Republican policies instead of immediately reversing Trump's insane policies ... America's politics has been in terminal decline for decades ... 9/11 and Iraq really push the boat out to new lows ... but Trump Trumped even that ... with his lie after lie ...

Trump has enabled some of the worst dictators and biased leaders on the planet ... palling around with Putin ... grandstanding with the Kim regime ... clipping possible future Iranian leader General Soleimani for his pal Khamenei (current Iranian leader who Soleimani could have popularly replaced in 2021) ... praising Farage, Le Pen, and Salvini ... supporting MBS and Netanyahu violence ...

In his own country Trump has sided with racist bigots and conspiracy theory tin foil hat loonies ... he has encouraged violence by the semi naked horned furry brigade ... he has encouraged same to storm the Capitol to try and get him back into office ... he has supported every unhelpful and violent movement in America ... it is surprising he never founded TLM ... Trump Lives Matter !! ...

Why Trump still remains genuinely popular ... and why Americans still buy gaudy gold plated statues of him and MAGA and Trump hair replica hats I cannot understand ... this man is a joke but a dangerous one ...

What's interesting to me, is not whatever nonsense TFG is lately claiming about why he took the documents, that's irrelevant. Its that he's being taken to task about it in this interview of *the Watergate prosecutor who cross-examined Rose Mary Woods.* Political blast from the past!

As ever with Trump he takes a tiny sliver of truth and then drowns it in a torrent of bullshit to make a story he thinks helps him.

When HW left office , NARA did what they do for every President , they collected up all the paperwork etc. and they moved it to storage, for convenience usually somewhere close to where the Presidential library was likely to be (Chicago for Obama , Texas for HW).

NARA rented a building that at one point was a bowling alley & chinese restaurant and used it as a storage facility complete with security guards and alarms and cameras etc. etc.

They then used this facility as a staging point as they worked through all the stuff to go to the Presidential library.

At no point did G HW Bush have possession of the documents once he left office , just like every other President.
