Would you listen to full on Christmas music all year round?!

I listen to classical and carols throughout the year. Not daily or anything like that but odd days wfh or suchlike for some nice background music.

I know they mentioned in an interview before the off season numbers surprised them as they were higher than expected.

They see a spike for Christmas in July as well.

Not daily, I'm not insane😅 But I find that it is an escape so anytime I'm not feeling great or something has me down I'll stick on my Christmas playlist or just Christmas FM and it helps significantly.

I also like to rotate some Christmas ambiance music in when studying (most evenings)

It is strange in less than 4 week’s ChristmasFM is due back online and there’s been no charity partner announcement.

Every time i see this thread in bold I expect it to be the announcement! I get the emails however they go into my junk emails some times so don't always see them straight away.

Let's hope it's just that they are busy with moving and nothing more serious.

I seen this on the ChristmasFM site. This is interesting to say the least. Looks like they are deviating from the norm this year.

That is interesting, wonder what direction they are going to go. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Not Christmas FM but across the water Heart FM have started up their Christmas DAB radio channel as of 23rd Sept.

Christmas has come earlier than ever at radio station Heart, as they launch Heart Xmas TODAY and we’re ready for all the yule-tide classics.

    Heart Xmas Logo

Ho Ho holy moly! earlier than even last year, Heart Xmas officially arrived on DAB Digital Radio & Global Player today with just 3 months until the big day.

Listeners can expect nothing but the biggest and best Christmas songs of all time, non-stop, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including: Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’, Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’, Chris Rea’s ‘Driving Home For Christmas’ and Band Aid’s ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’

    Heart Xmas

Andy Everett, Managing Editor of Heart, said: “This year we’ve decided to bring back our much-loved festive station, Heart Xmas, earlier than ever before. Every year, Heart listeners get in touch earlier and earlier to request their favourite festive tunes, so we wanted to get into the Christmas spirit here at Heart Xmas with three full months of non-stop festive feel good!”

Christmas fans can get their festive fix and tune into Heart Xmas from today – Friday 23rd September.

Heart Xmas is available across the UK on DAB digital radio, and on Global Player on your smart speaker (“play Heart Christmas”), iOS or Android device and heart.co.uk/xmas

Saw that myself, was tempted to submit my details just to get an early heads up but decided not to in the end. Hopefully we hear something soon as other than that one isolated email explaining the new relocation they've been very quiet this year.

No mention of HalloweenFM starting up in the next few weeks either... not that I'm a fan of it.

Hopefully all is well and all will be revealed soon.

Me neither, I didn't even bother listening to the Halloween FM broadcast.

Has there been a Halloween FM broadcast previously?? I thought it was purely online.

Despite the FM name. HalloweenFM was online only.

Actually, that particular operation did get a temporary license this year to broadcast on FM - I heard it! I also made reference to it at the time somewhere on Boards!

Edit: In fact, I had a thread about it and here it is!

Either way, I have zero interest irrelevant of the platform its broadcast on. Its just Christmas FM for me in terms of seasonal listenig.

Not too sure how I feel about the multi-charity route this year, in order to give all charities equal air time will that take away from the music... and will it be a mouthful for the presenters to call out every time haha.

I was stuck in a work meeting & more worried about when I'd get a chance for lunch!

I'm not sure either how I feel about this year's charity partner (s). I'm a bit 'hmmm.'

Great to see Barretstown getting the vote. Done a charity event this summer for them with work and raised 10,000 for them. Then got to go up and volunteer for the day. Amazing people!
