How to seperate and rename the 2.4gGHz and 5GHz bands on Eir fibre box Router

I purchased a Bresser weather station (Tuya Smart Thermo Hygrometer ) from Germany and it only works on the 2.4GHz band

The Eir Router runs simultaneously on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands any simple way to connect it to the 2.4GHz band

What's the issue? If the device can't see the 5GHz band, it will just connect to the 2.4GHz one

Ah, it's the phone that needs to be on 2.4. No way to force the phone to use 2.4 (as far as I know). However, if it's the eir fibre box, the instructions here seem to say you can give the bands different names: https://www.eir.ie/helpandsupport/smartphonehelp/?page=device/eir/fibre-box/topic/settings/change-your-wi-fi-s-name-ssid-and-password/1

It is possible, but trick is required. Enter your router addrres into the browser .

Click on WIFI mesh and then paste the link

Narrow a browser window and done, its jsut the way eir designed this website, most likely still in 2010

I have switched from VF and dint want to change passwords in all the devices so just cloned the network name and details from previous prvider.

Eir at this BS too.

If you ring Vodafone up about this they will try to charge you 5 euro per month to split the bands on their gigabox routers. Real lowlife stuff. Same workaround as here though. A few tricks and you can separate the SSIDs to 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

Edit: got it to work! I had to turn roaming and mesh off and then it worked. If you turn this setting back on, it reverts to a single band.
