Why can't Russia be kicked out of the UN? Its an absolute disgrace that they are still in it.

I think it's time they were kicked out of it. I thought there was talk of it a while back but yet they are still in it.

So what is stopping the rest of the members from kicking Russia out of it?

Where would you stop though? Loads more member countries are a serious concern. Better to have them in than in the complete shadows.

Technically impossible. Russia is the succesor state to the USSR and as such sits on the Security Council wielding a veto. In an ideal world, they'd be roundhoused kicked out of there to be replaced by India, or would leave like Japan left the League of Nations after Manchuria. In fact, Russia's behaviour very much resembles Japan in the 1930's - high as a badger on expansionism and heading for disaster powered by their own hubris.

In any case, Russia's name is dirt in the international community now. It must have stung to see China rake them over the coals today. And hilariously, even the North Koreans are washing their hands of the Ruskies. You can be sure word has gone around in backchannel communications to every country, the West has drawn a line in the sand.

Contrary to Kremlin propaganda, this war won't be fought to the last Ukrainian; it will be fought to the last Russian provincial alcoholic and softboi of Leningrad and Moscow Oblasts.

The UN is a joke shop. They stood by and watched as Powell made a mockery of it in 2003 killing a million Iraqis in the process and it's been a laughing stock since. If they'd any guts about them at all they'd tell the Russians to sling their hook.

As far as I understand it they can be via arcane arts but that leaves the others in the same situation. You could remove them from the UN and ignore them. If all the others fall in line they just ignore the other.

I would rather the whole failed experiment gone just a talking shop for the rich.

Your numbers on US caused deaths in Iraq are out by many multiples. If you want to let ISIS and Al Qaeda off the hook for their widespread murder campaigns, go ahead, but it's bizzare (and even then, your count of total violent deaths in Iraq by all actors is 400k more than even the upper-estimate).

By all means, criticize the US for what they have done, but don't make things up. This was covered extensively in the Russia thread, and the posters trying to puff up the numbers retreated. You may as well wave the little white flag now too.

But like, it's a valid point..America has been pretty much constantly at war around the world, is currently occupying Syrian oilfields and bombing Ethiopia..

In fairness, you can argue that America set the stage for the carnage in Iraq, but I don't think you can place the blame for all the horrendous violence, especially the Islamist stuff, at their door.
