Just saw that - is there any info on location/time? The Russian morale must be so low in the East they want this to end as soon as possible or else they had to flee so fast they just wanted out of there and didn't have time to destroy the hardware or plant traps. It's bizarre.

I'd be holding my whist a while yet, both until the fog of war & disinformation lifts a bit. And till we see how other Russian forces in the region react, a wounded dog is dangerous and they've still got serious firepower. If the Ukrainians can strangle supplies to the south though, they really strengthen their hand.

If that isn't spin after the fact and it looks like it's not, then the Ukrainians played a blinder and the Russians took the bait, hook, line and sinker. If they can keep this momentum going the Russians can't hope to claim they've done anything but royally fúck up. Though they will try. Bless.

What makes it better? The putinbots were hopping up and down excitedly pointing to the reports of Ukraine being hammered in Kherson as a win for them. 🤣

Are you a secret Russia supporter to be posting such defeatist ideas?

Amongst others,in operation Fortitude it was actually both, but part of a bigger operation bodyguard its was several, but Norway was a key objective since Hitler had 400k troops placed there thinking the invasion would come?

But other countries, like sweden,Bulgaria and even soviet union was involved

When the Kherson offensive began there was lots of talk from the Ukrainian Channels that there was a media blackout. People are not to be posting anything online etc.

Now it appears to be a faint to take the north east back. Russia have been absolutely merked. They spent months fighting for that territory and lost it in 3 days.

Today was SOOOO Bad, even the Russian bots can’t even muster enough BS to type a ‘Best for Ukraine to surrender now to avoid the inevitable Russian victory’ troll post.

I fiind this quite interesting. 33 airstrikes in one day. One would have thought that a priority of the Russian AF would have been some form of Suppression of Ukranian air assets.

It's extraordinary that the Ukrainian Airforce ( mainly su-25's) still have some potency this far into the War.

Pilots are expensive to replace. Also hardly wager people are turning up in the droves to join an outdated airforce that used to have to bring tourists along to have money for fuel for training.

Good to be back from the bold step at such a fortuitous time.

To the Moscow Micks and 'escalation' pearl clutchers of this thread, ya boys are getting wrecked.

🤦‍♂️ Oh for fúck's sake. "Secret russia supporter"? Seriously? Are you so bloody blinkered and one dimensional in thinking that your ability to read what someone actually writes fails you?

If anyone wants to know how autocracies can sway enough of a population to simple minded partisan thinking and the nastiness that ultimately follows, it's posts like that which should show them how easy it can be. Worse, unlike Russians born to constant bullshít and a controlled narrative, we in the west with all the different avenues of information open to us have eff all excuse.

Oh hang on. Just in case:

Why the Fcuk are the Russian generals off doing war games with India and China when their forces are getting hammered in Kharviv oblast?

Its like a whole play the fiddle when Rome burns thing.

Ok, I was not aware of the deception involving Norway! Thanks for that!

Ah Wibbs I thought you were a bit more astute than that. I'm taking the piss out of the sort of posters you've rightly been lamenting, and who, inevitably, are back in full force right now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,430 ✭✭✭paul71

And in contrast over on the other thread where a lot of the "what about NATO expnsion" whinners are not banned there is almost dead silence.

That part I can't understand at all TV. I think it's putin's deal with trying to build up the whole BRICS movement and trading block. Something that was in play politically before, but after the sanctions that have crippled Russia needed to be stepped up in a big way. He knows they're hurting very badly economically and politically.

The EU has called his bluff over gas and oil, their areospace industry is screwed, their airline industry is a dead man walking that can't fly over the EU, the US and others, even China their "friends" have put the kibosh on them there, their IT industry is at least a decade behind and Russia is cut off from so much of the modern economic world in investment, insurance, leasing etc. Very early on I reckoned one of the biggest mistakes these eejits made was the taking of the Airbus and Boeing fleet. There was no coming back from that. Longterm in my humble that alone was economically worse than the war, sorry "special military operation" itself.

So him doing the war games is trying to plug an ever more leaky boat. That he took a chunk of the very thing needed to prosecute a stalemated war he started speaks volumes.

OK. I'm officially a gobshíte Rog. I was long an unofficial one before, but now... 😁

PS you're still an eejit for thinking me astute... 😜

Penis Dushilin, "head" of the Donbas occupation, records a public address while probably fleeing from Donetsk.

I mean you had Russian commanders flee across the Dnipro river in Kherson Oblast couple weeks ago, great, I'm sure the ordinary Russian soldier kept there was just highly motivated. Few pages back in this forum, was posted one of the Russian propaganda programs, had a guy say that losses mean nothing to overall scheme of things, broadcast to millions I'm sure.

Then you have this guy who could have just stepped out on the side of the road to make an announcement, he could have even used a tent, hell he could have gone ISIS style and had two guys behind him with balaclavas and AK's but instead it is from a high speed moving car which tells everyone he is outa there.

It's no wonder the Russian motivation is evaporated. The entire structure of the Russian military psyche is bizarre.

I wonder what they'll do with those 7000 soldiers, if the figure is true. Would genuinely understand if they paraded them through Kiev and then "disappeared" them all. Presumably more likely a prisoner swap?

Apparently a SU34 is down, that's another $36 million down the shitter for the Orcs.

    ^^^^

This, the most stupid kneejerk reaction they could have made was stealing billions worth of Aircraft. Debt insurers, leasing companies don't do moral judgement. They do cold hard factual based financial risk assessments. No western, chinese or any other company will risk giving leases or credit to any Russian company again for decades, long after other sanctions are lifted, it will be simply "you want to buy from me buddy, ok hard cash up front or **** off".

That was a self sanctioning move and profoundly stupid.

The Kherson front is still making progress acording to quite a few sources. But yea seems in the early days at least it may have come at huge cost to Ukrainian forces.

Strangely reading some of the accounts from that Washington post article, they were talking about Russian drones causing huge problems for Ukrainian forces and picking them out for mortar fire. But I also seen reports of the same problems the Russians had on the Kharkiv front for the Russians where Ukrainian drones where picking out Russian positions. Seems that the most advanced stuff on the Russian side was sent to Kherson. Was this part of the plan for Ukraine?

Anyway its been a hell of a day, and hopefully the good news keeps coming, but talk of a complete Russian collapse from some is way to premature at the moment unfortunately.
