What do we reckon, ticketwanker servers fall over within 5 mins and the allocation gone in 9?

I did the loyalty reg at the Olympia yesterday and was told I would get an email on Friday with my code.

No option on that for those of us not in the aforementioned three outlets. I've bought a couple of tickets at Zhivagos in Galway (easier to get the 3 Picnic loyalty in-store when TM only gave me the 1/2 loyalty code online) Hoping for an email with 3 purchases but have no faith in them. At least the loyalty option is still there, though I expect the allocation to lessen year by year.

Excellent news, that's a cert for us. Probably hit the Belfast show as it's the recently completed Mandela Hall refurb, so glad that is back as a venue.

Sometimes wristbands were being checked, other times not.

Predictions? I think RATM will be scheduled alongside their return to Reading/Leeds. at least no Picture This/Dermot Kennedy/Coronas but I'd expect some from Gavin James, Kodaline, Frames, Script, etc. I'm again not expecting much from the headline acts but a much stronger undercard.

Hopefully the return of Sunday afternoon reggae, 80s heritage acts and indie bands from further afield. Go on FR, surprise me with an Old Skool lineup.

Registered in the Olympia today, in and out no fuss. As i have zero EP's on my ticketmaster account i figured i better make the effort this time to stand me in good stead for any future loyalty schemes.

How many more years? How much time is there left? All the rivers reversed while you counted each step.

    Possibile Headliners

Wild cards are Queens of The Stone Age and Bjork

If Muse don't announce an Irish date next week they'll headline (they've wanted to for some time)

I don't think that RATM will do the late summer shows, i think they're going to aim for June/July Euro

If a one off date isn't announced Rihanna

    Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Sigur Ros/Alt J/ (M83 would be amazing but not likely)

    MIA/The XX

Lower Headliner possibilities Sigrid/Stereophonics/Franz Ferdinand/Kasabian/St Vincent

From the Irish I reckon Hozier as a headliner if album is decent,

It's time for the bi yearly visit of Gavin James.

I think depending on how things go with Charlotte Hatherley and the Ash reunion (2 UK gigs) we may see them for a show.

Bell X1, Villagers, Fight like apes

    International undercard:

The Smile, King Gizzard, Santigold, Marcus Mumford, Mura Masa, Self Esteem, Doves, Everything Everything, The Darkness, Father John Misty, Young Fathers

Impossible to predict headliners this far away, but I think you are now nearly guaranteed that two out and out pop headliners in the mold of Gavin James, Picture This, Dermot Kennedy, Kodaline, The Coronas etc.

Some acts that are releasing albums over the next while though that would be good:

Caribou, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Simple Minds, Phoenix, Gorillaz, Royksopp.

Depeche mode are going to do fests next year. They are a great fest band.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,379 ✭✭✭Stillill42

Oh mother of God, Rico. Don't do that to me. I've just decided I'm out. They'd be pretty much the dream headliner for me at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,710 ✭✭✭Fanirish

You can rule out Rihanna, RHCP, Muse, Depeche Mode as headliners. Those would never happen due to their fees.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,169 ✭✭✭Ricosruffneck

    This is not the case.

I've seen all of these at smaller fests in the past 6 years.

my understanding is The exact same weekend wristbands, are on people in general camping, and people in Campervan/caravan areas, so i don’t see why yee can’t visit others and vice versa, unless i am missing something here, or they have changed things ?

Lovely review as ever, BD. Slightly disappointed you didn't get a flower crown yourself. I think you could pull that off. I know Paula, the girl in the picture with your friend at the flower place.

As always @bodhrandude a fantastic picture of your EP - you fairly clocked up the miles! Thanks for all the great pics and clips

Ticketmaster being more organised this year, code sat gleaming like a polished turd in my inbox this morning.

Price incease as expected, €195 of your hard earned pennies.

The last bit of the mail is the funniest thing I’ve read all year

”The highly anticipated festival lineup will be revealed soon.”
