Car registration number not found

Buying a used car, when I input it to motor check to check history it can’t be found? Would there be a reason for this? It’s from a reputable dealer!

Are you sure the reg is correct? Have you tried different spacing/format of the reg? Have you tried using a different checker?

Yeah 100%, collecting car next week so will query it then. It just seems strange or maybe it’s not live on the system yet?? It’s a 2015 car

Only reason a 2015 car would not be live in the online systems, is that it's an import, only registered on Irish plates in the last few days

Yeah the dealer said it was a Japanese import? So I shouldn’t be worried then? Lol I just had a bad feeling when the ref didn’t work. Thanks

Will any of the history check companies actually have any information on a newly registered Japanese import? I don't think they will.
