Mf 5455

Depending on what type of John Deere you have.

If you have a 6000 series I would argue that they are perhaps the most well balanced tractor to operate a loader, & would be more sure footed than an equivalent HP Massey with a loader.

They have a full length chassis which makes for excellent stability with a loader.

Getting on in years now though

I'd be very interested in this thread also. Have a MF 4255 with loader here for past 11 years. Happy with it but needs a few bits now and no shuttle. Looking at an upgrade this winter and strongly considering a MF 5455 or MF 5445. Might consider others also but preference is MF.

According to tractor data the 05 to 08 4255 is Tier 2 95 hp, while 08 to 13 is Tier 3 and 105 hp. There is no T1 5455, I'd say T1 tractors are pre 1995, 390 and the likes. I have heard alright that T3 tractors are less fuel efficient than T2.

Actually I think the 5455 is the largest tractor in the range with the perkins engine its sisu from the next tractor up.

How does the boost work? you can get it boosted to 125 or it boosts itself when under pressure?

Yeah I only seen it in this video.

Its a factory fitted boost and AFAIK only kicks in if in top gear on the road OR the PTO is on.

That action hasnt happened yet. its on the 26th. I looked at it there 06 with only 3000 hours however no dyna 4 on it. Prob worth around 30-35? would that be right?
