I had the misfortune of being on an aisle seat in the upper tier a number of years ago.

It was an absolute nightmare, people constantly coming in and out to the bar and toilet.

One chap was up and down every 8 minutes for about 4 pints at a time, most of which he spilt on the steps.

It eased off in the second half but I was getting very frustrated as the queues on the steps were blocking my view of the game when play was to my right.

Who are these cretins who pay 100 euro to go to a match and spend their time in and out to the bar and taking selfies.

I've been in the lower tier for matches since and it didnt seem to be as noticeable an issue. Bar might have been closed during the games though.

Even at the JP MC Manus Proam last week, the scourge of phones was present on every tee box.

Youd be in a good viewing position and seconds before the player began his swing some gobshite stuck his arm up in the air.

Too many morons attending events nowadays.

I'm really glad it's not an issue for you (and I don't mean that in a snotty way as tone can be lost on message boards). But there are plenty of people who it is an issue for. My friend brought his elderly parents to their first rugby game this year and they had to keep getting up and down for lads buying rakes of pints and going to the toilets throughout a 6N game, to the point where they said they'd never go again as they could never get settled. They reckoned they got up and down about nearly 30 times during the first half of the game alone. So if other people are not attending because of it, it is an issue. Big enough for the IRFU to do something about it? As I've said over and over again, no - clearly they won't care too much. But that doesn't mean its not an issue. And it does affect atmosphere.

Is there no 2 game package with Australia and SA?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43 smokybacon

Here is the Scotland pricing. Matches here might sell out here but there downright mean prices.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 17,411 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

No, there is no incentive for the IRFU to do this.

The packages are to try and shift tickets for the Fiji match.

Bought combined tickets for the SA and Fiji matches. Happy enough with that.

Me too. Just about happy with the price v ticket quality.

The individual SA tickets were pretty poor, as were the triple pack I thought.

Can’t see this listed anywhere either - the IRFU website just makes reference to “Schoolboy/Schoolgirl” so I suppose that could cover up to 18?

Best thing to do is email the IRFU Ticket Office who should be able to confirm - tickets[at]irishrugby.ie

Tickets generally are schoolboy/schoolgirl rather than child and its up to 18. are you asking for your own kids. wouldnt worry too much but send email to IRFU ticket office if unsure

I used a schoolboy ticket to get into the south stand v NZ in 2001. I was 25 years of age. Shaved v closely, had a monkey hat pulled down over my ears and a pair of sunglasses on. 😂

As someone who has attended all the Irish home games for a while, I can tell you it has been a big issue at most games. The ABs game in November was the exception, and the Italy and Scotland games the worst. A lot of people have been commenting on it, and the IRFU are aware enough to get some feedback from people to better understand it.

Your dismissal is dismissive, you're dismissed.

Ive worked most of those games in the Aviva and i see it more than most how people act,.. IRFU have looked for feedback but i just dont see any changes to what happens now. People arent going to be stopped by Stewards returning to their seats during play with drinks or kept in the concourse areas. there has been some complaints about issues but nothing near enough has happened for all alcohol to be banned from being brought into the bowl to the seats

Different people enjoy games in different ways, they've all paid for their tickets just like you but if you don't like people getting in your way you could always watch the games from your sitting room

I think suggesting that someone has a right to be overly rude and disruptive simply because they bought a ticket and others should either suck it up or stay away is a crap and selfish attitude and is a pathetic indictment of society.

Sure they're technically doing nothing wrong and nobody is saying you can't have fun but there's a middle ground where you'd hope that other attendees are having fun but aren't disrupting your experience to the point you don't want to return.

If you went to the cinema and people were screaming and shouting to the point that you couldn't enjoy or follow the film, I highly doubt you'd have no issue because hey, they bought a ticket.

Its just about being sound to others. It's hardly revolutionary.

Does anyone think there will be any chance of SA tickets coming available. They are the final southern hemisphere team for me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,433 ✭✭✭PMC83

Theres always a chance of a single, have a ticket master tab open the week of the match and keep refreshing, they do pop up from time to time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 262 ✭✭a2deden

Ah ya id need four lol, wife and two kids. But ill keep checking thanks

Highly unlikely Id say, you'd be looking at singles dotted around the stadium, best of luck!

Lots of Fiji tickets currently on TM, just not going to go to any of these ones this time out, prices just a bit too steep for me.

Go through the vodafone app. The to the offers section. They are offering free cinema tickets but also chance to buy tickets for the South africa game. €115 and €125 tickets.

In Vodafone, if you search my map there are seats beside each other in 129, not sure why it doesn’t show when you try filter by 2. Still not going 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,648 ✭✭✭✭Eod100

There's about 20 odd tickets for the SA game on TM now, €131.60 a pop including fees.

Hoping we play England or Wales away next summer in the WC warm up series as it might be easier to get tickets compared to a 6N game

Games vs Scotland ruled out for obvious reasons and France prob the same due to the QF draw (if one or both teams make it that far)

Does anyone have experience sourcing tickets for Murrayfield? There's a small group of us looking to head over in March for the Ireland game but just wondering what's the best route for getting tickets.
