Newcastle rewarded with a goal for being on top for the most part.

    1-1

Fully deserved equaliser from Newcastle, love to see a team putting it up to City.

Refreshing to see a team have a go at City instead of rolling over from the 1st minute.

The sheer amount of clear-cut yellow cards City get away with will never fail to amaze me.

What is the difference between that and Guimares? Rodri tax again.

Thought City were going to steamroll Newcastle, but Newcastle really took the game to them in the last 15 minutes.

No yellow card for a clear professional foul by Rodri

Fair play to Newcastle, one of my pet peeves is teams that just turn up and accept defeat against City. They can actually be got at it if your willing to have a go at them...

Well, they rolled over in the 4th minute but ASM is playing out of his skin and dragged them back into it, despite Almiron's best efforts to shoot as many wides as he can.

Its great that its an actual game now though. I wish more teams would try. This City team aren't invincible despite how good they are.

    Wow...some turnaround...

Newcastle have been top class. A bit worrying to think that this is before the big petrodollars get spent, there’s a clear footballing plan and vision in place already at the club.

    Go on Newcastle !!

    Deserved from Newcastle.

For all the money city have spent their defence is very average. They get away with it because nobody has a go at them.

Is there anyone else in the league with quicker burst of speed than ASM? Phenomenal.

Adama Traore is the only one you could probably make a case for, there’s actually quite a few parallels between them along with that, none more so than a lack of consistency.

If ASM played like this every week, he’d be playing for the other team today.

City may still end up winning this however Newcastle are another team showing the best way to play City is to be on the front foot and attack them don't sit back and let them dominate the game.

It's rare to see a team actually be brave enough to try and play football against Man City, instead of just sitting back and giving up early on.

They are getting their rewards so far.

As an aside to all this, I can't get over how commentators still just say Joe Lintin... I don't expect them to say it right, but it's like his name was close enough to something they recognise that they just completely don't bother their arses to give it a half decent go. Like, even if they just included the 'el' (Jo-el-in-ton), it'd be alright.

Wow what a goal by Trippier

Great free kick. Just after Haaland hit the post and nearly equalised. Small margins.
