Swapping out euro two pin plugs for Irish

Just thought Id ask here as the units I want Irish plugs on are higher wattage, its an espresso machine (1,400w) and a kettle (2kw). Will I find the usual brown, blue and yellow & green stripe wires inside the main thicker wire when I chop it? Any differences to know about?

The wiring colours are EU standard, so if the devices are in any way modern they should use them.

If they're just two pin Europlugs, they won't have an earth to use obviously - but if they are side contact / female earth, there will be.

Would be worth double checking the appliances use (roughly) the same voltage and you're not trying to use, for e.g., an American 110V appliance

No the espresso machine is from Italy and kettle Poland so both should be 220 or 240v.

Thanks, is there no problems connecting to an Irish plug without an earth wire going into it? How come euro plugs dont have one anyway?

No problems at all. Any item that has a basic two pin europlug would have a plastic dummy earth over here. Double insulated devices do not need to be earthed.

The large round combo plug that you get on other devices has earth, in two different locations for different kit, but not a pin. But the wire will be there for putting our type plug on.
