Do you have any tattoos?

I have six. You wouldn't even know unless you see me in a bikini or naked. Had a perfectly happy childhood and am a pretty well adjusted working professional. It never ceases to amaze me how het-up people get about tattoos on here.

Where as I had a difficult childhood and have no tattoos.

The reason I posted that study was its an interesting link in the discussion on tattoos but its not an absolute correlation.

There are many people who use tattoos to mark a sense of survival of some difficulty or other, there are also those who do not.

Three tattoos so far and eight or nine piercings - depends if you count an Industrial as one or two.

No childhood traumas, I just like both, when they're done well.

Have none. I think they are manky looking. For a while it was about having something different but now every clown looks like a three year old attacked them with a rubber stamp while they were sleeping. Why would you want to look like that for life?

I think there will be a fortune to be made in tattoo removal in the future.

Don’t have any, don’t mind them on others. Some can look cool enough.

Not really a fan of the hand, neck or face ones but as long as I’m not being forced to get them it doesn’t bother me.

None here - I have nothing against them and would get one but haven't been inspired by anything enough to get one.

I'm not a Maori so not gonna get a Maori design. Same goes for celtic designs, don't really see the point of those.

If I had a big personal achievement like going to the Olympics or having a number 1 record it would be worth a tattoo, because those things are quickly forgotten but worth commemorating as personal achievements. Neither are likely to happen anytime soon. Bryan cranston and Aaron Paul got breaking bad tattoos which is fair enough - getting a breaking bad tattoo because you watched and liked the show is a bit silly imo

Got my 6th there recently, typical upbringing, work in a "professional" role and environment.

Mine are all in places that aren't in your face type areas, however with the warm weather of late they are a bit more on display and I've actually received a number of complements this week on them.

I'm slightly darker than your average "pasty Irish skin" so maybe that helps and all mean something to me and took me a lot of research and thought to design them.

Yes a have good few( 8) but none can be seen if i wear a t-shirt or shorts ,

I don't regret any but i only got my first on at 30 & all mark different moment in my life ,

I plan to get more ,but will keep them on my torso , shoulders, & upper legs ,

Each to there own but i try to get one's that mean something with moments in my life, not just something that looks cool if you get me, But if that's what you like go for it,

For example , Last one i got was realist portrait of a picture from my wedding day on my pec,

One bit of advice if you do get one is save even if it takes an extra year & only get really good artist its there for life ,

No "well adjusted" person posts on internet forums never mind this forum. Also being a "working professional" doesn't automatically make you an upstanding good person.

My tattoos have special significance for me, not because of "surviving adversity" but to mark positive events in my life. Have ten and more planned.

Spent this summer in Zurich, in the parks and at the lakes and swimming pools, easily 60% of adults (all genders) have tattoos, and not small tattoos, they're easy to see from a distance.
