Leicester have left a few go this summer and haven't really brought anyone in I think.

I very much doubt they want to sell another first team player although I wouldn't mind adding him to the Liverpool midfield mix.

The Glazers realising they can replace a French international midfielder with a questionable attitude for another but with half the ability.

La Liga have again tonight blocked Barca from registering any of those 7 players before the start of the season.

Barca tried to inflate the value of player sales using club funds to make it look like it was bigger deals.

More than a club all right.

Wolves have signed Valencia forward Guedes ( another Portuguese player) for £27.5m.

Cody said he went to Everton for regular first team football for his chance to go to the World Cup.

Laporta saying De Jong wants to stay and they want to keep him is just more of them turning the screws to get him to accept lower wages.

Guedes should be a good signing for them I reckon.

I don't get the Coady transfer though, he's played every game when fit for about 5 years. I saw they started 2 at the back on Saturday, maybe they are changing to a back 2 this season? If so, I'd have kilman and coady ahead of him then but he'd be starting every time in a back 3

Did they try to inflate the salary costs if the players sold?

Pique has agreed to invalidate his contract and sign a new one with much lower pay to help them. One more brick in the wall.

Fingers crossed these two great deals get over the line 🤣

It's a pity Netflix didn't start doing a United Til I Die docu-series this summer, it would have made for fantastic viewing.

You jest, but they would actually improve the squad ☹️

Apart from a 35 year old keeper that was able to go on a free, who are these players that they sold over the summer?

btw..they are caught under the FPRs of having to sale before they can buy. Hence one or two are likely to go at some stage soon if the right money is offered.

Thought there was more, Lookman is gone but he was only on loan anyway I think. I remember reading something about Leicester being the quietest in the market and possibly the only club not to have bought a player. The FPR issue is probably the reason why.

As I said, i would be quite happy to pay the 30m for Tielemans and see him at Anfield. He has a lot of experience and is still in his mid 20's.

When I see some of the players mentioned in here that clubs are looking at and how much they might pay for him, he seems a bit of a steal if he could be got at that price. Wages wouldn't be astronomical either I would imagine, by comparison.

Leipzig have today announced the signing of Sesko from Salzburg for a fee of around 24 mil. Euro, with him still remaining in Salzburg for this season. I believe there were quite a few PL clubs linked with him this summer.

The deal with Timo Werner and Chelsea is also expected to go through today.

And other clubs were being quoted a lot more than €24m. He's the 18th player to transfer in that direction within the Red Bull football group in the last decade.

Arnie deal off for Utd. Complaints about his previous alleged racist slurs.

They reached the right conclusion but it just adds to the circus

The Manger wants him , the club agree, then the fans get it cancelled its like a reality tv show over at Old Trafford,

    More than a club.

Booing your own player because he won't leave, despite the fact that it was you who gave him the contract in the first place! He is doing nothing wrong ffs.

They should be booing the board.

Coady, looking for first team football to enhance his England chances is funny though.

If he can't hold down a place at mid table Wolves, what business has he playing for England, are they really THAT weak at the back?

Probably a decent signing for Everton though, a lad of limited enough ability but has made the most of himself and seems to have a good attitude, probably has a lot of family ties around the Liverpool area so probably suits him in a lot of ways.

He will definitely improve that Everton defence.

He played every league game for wolves last year too..

He's great in a 3-at-the-back as something like a deep lying playmaker who's also a decent defender. In a 2 he could leave you a bit exposed. England have used a 3 often enough, so he's trying to keep himself in the frame if they continue to use it, as he's the type of guy they'd want who's a bit between CB and CM.

Can't see Rabiot being the answer for that midfield, but you never know. Bit of a panic buy?

Apparently Juve fans delighted he is leaving.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 13,227 Mod ✭✭✭✭Cookiemunster

Panic buys are the last week of the window. This has nothing to do with Sundays result and has been ongoing since at least last week.

He may not be the answer on his own, but he is better than what's there.

I’ve read online that UTD pulled out of the deal after listening to concerns from ex players and fans contacting the club. If so thus is even funnier, fans and ex players dictating their transfer policy. The joke that keeps giving😂😂😂😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,477 ✭✭✭chicorytip

No joke for the Aranautovic lad. What did he ever do to deserve this? The manager wanted to sign him after all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Ex players in the media pretty much pushed and got Ole the job full time and helped keep him there for way to long so nothing really is surprising.

Alex still going to games and the camera's panning to him in the stands as soon as Man U went behind doesn't help matters either his presence still looms large over that club and every manager since him is still in his shadow.

Not once has Alex spoken out againt the owners and that is what the fans need to happen if the want rid of the owners however the Glazers pay him way to well for him to speak out against them.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 13,227 Mod ✭✭✭✭Cookiemunster

The main reason they pulled out of the Arnoutovic deal is because Bologna won't sell for the price Utd we're willing to pay for a backup player. Yes fans and former players didn't want someone with so many racism allegations behind him at the club and were vocal about it, but that's not the reason Utd walked away.

And SAF going to matches isn't even in the top 10 of issues at the club. Guys like Van Gaal and Mourinho didn't fail because SAF was sitting in the stands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,873 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Personally, I think that the backlash against the Arnautovic signing was 99% because of his abilities and age etc, and 1% because of the racism accusations. But those accusations were an an easy out and made it easier to kick up such a big fuss and not sign the player. 'He doesn't have the values of the club ' and other such lines.

Why wasn't there a big backlash when Ronaldo was being signed? He had a large court case for sexual assault hanging over his head at the time of the transfer. While there was a protest at the first game (by a feminist group), it wasn't by the fans of the football club he signed for. Because he was/is a massive superstar with quality.

It's easy say you don't want a 'bad' player playing at the club when he has something hanging over their head, but when a 'good' player has something hanging over their head, it can be glossed over.

Most of what I read on the juve reddit are his wages are too high for what he brings but will be missed especially giving there injury prone midfield
