Running facilities in Wexford?

Anyone know of decent (read 'flat') places to run near Wexford town? I'm looking for something in the region of 10k on the flat. Ideally a track but the nearest I can find is Enniscorthy or Waterford which are both a good 30 min drive from me.

Tough one. Clonard industrial estate is reasonable.

I usually run in curracloe when down and out to the Raven

I'll investigate Clonard, thanks. It's crazy that for whatever reason there just isn't either a track or an area that isn't either motorway or a busy road or something less that 1km straight anywhere in Wexford town region. The Enniscorthy track looks good but I can't find info about whether you can just turn up and use it...and it's a long way to go to find out I can't or that it's being used for something else that day.

I agree wholeheartedly as a regular visitor to the area. A nice enough option, albeit a bit of a spin from Wexford town, is to park in Rosslare Strand and run up the beach and back to the village via the Burrow Road, I think it's called. It's about a 10k loop, half on the beach and half on a quiet road. It's pancake flat except for an occasional scramble over the breakwaters that appear every 500m or so along the beach. The beach is generally very runnable except for at high tide when you might be limited to the loose sand near the dunes. Best avoided when windy though!

St killians athletics uses that track, ping them on facebook.

The quays is flat. Gaa pitches are another location.

Another decent loop if early is the main st wexford town and onto the quays.

The joys of being at sea level is all routes out require a hill of some sort.

Not pancake flat but not too bad is if you run along the quay and out the Rosslare Road and back.

I haven’t run there but I’d say Min Ryan Park is relatively flat. Johnstown Castle isn’t free but if you’re a member might be a nice option, albeit maybe not session friendly.
