Calf creep feeder

Friend has a Watson this 3 years. It's a seriously well built piece of kit.

I wouldn’t be too keen about the Condon one with the pen at the front. I somehow imagine rain blowing against the curtain and running into the trough. But, the weather is probably worse around me than it is in other parts of the country.

+1 for the Watson. They are well built with an excellent paint finish. They should be fairly widely available too, as a lot of machinery dealers stock Watson products.

Well wear, it looks decent enough. The galvanise will be a huge advantage. What are the two pieces standing up at the back?

Ah yes, I can see it now. I actually thought they were part of the feeder….lol

How much are they if you don’t mind me asking?

We find the Advantage feeders a great job with the sheep, you can regulate the amount per head to whatever rate you want.

If I Was back with sucklers I'd definitely have one for them.

This guy in Galway quoted me €1,700 for a 8 foot feeder back in April this year. 6'6" one was €1,600. I didn't go to look at them but they look well built, in fairness.

If I was buying one, I'd get a galvanised one but also pay attention to how the trough is fixed. It's the trough that rusts first, as the meal holds the moisture and the minerals in it rusts it faster. Having a trough that is easy to replace is a huge bonus.

I think he was recommended on here in another thread at some stage… I was actually looking for him on DoneDeal lately, and couldn't find him. Thanks for the link. I'll give him a try.
