Sleeping Tablet Before Flight

    hello all

    i will be flying to Turkey with Edreams carrier in September and was wondering if i could take a sleeping tablet before getting on the plane ( i hate Flying) or do the air hostess want you awake for the whole flight

    I would discuss it with your GP. There might be something more suitable.

    You don't have to be awake the whole time, but you need to be capable of being awake.

    Air hostess???? I'd be more concerned about actually having a flight if booked through EDreams. But yes, you need to discuss it with your GP. Direct non-stop to Turkey is about 4.5 hours and most sleeping pills induce 7 hours sleep. But you need proper medical advice - not from a bunch of strangers on the Internet.

    The flight is far too short for a sleeping tablet.

    try asking for anti-anxiety medicine instead.

    You could just take a nytol, there're tame enough but should help you sleep.

    Whatever you take - OTC or via GP, I would advise taking one of them on a night few days before the flight so you get an idea of how it affects you.

    I tried these (based on the ancient Roman remedy Valerian extract) and they had a calming \ sleepy effect, but alas they also can upset stomachs :(

    On a medium length flight 1-2 might do it for you, assuming it agrees with you.
