If you think so, so be it

    Questions are still there.

    What bloody questions!

This thread has run it's course if your post is the level of interaction which posters on the other side deem constructive

We couldn't home the homeless here for years. Even families, well other then your one Ms Cash and the other one.

    Now we can home 40k.?

    Confusing.

Shutting down the thread is your solution.

Go on, look back through your replies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,361 ✭✭✭standardg60

This is honestly laughable stuff, you are clearly not posting from Ireland

Shutting down the thread is probably what you'd like given there's some rational opposition to your agenda

In order to get a Dublin City Council home you need to agree to Gardai vet check.

    Cancelled.?

    Where am I posting from?

The links are to show you what/who are racist or Xenophobic in all of this, not your bullcrap quote of my post. I was not saying anything that isn't in mainstream media already, and been said time and time again, before the war. I only didn't link to any of it in that post as I didn't feel I needed to, nor was I bothered going looking for any links. I have left, at least, some links for you to follow and look it up yourself. The title 'most racist country in Europe' I am pretty sure came from a BBC panoram doc around 2012, prior to the Euros.

Anyone suggesting that we have taken in far more than our infrastructure allows for, does not make them xenophobic, it is merely pointing out more facts.

Pretty clear that English is not your first language, where are you from?

Imagine Ireland being in the EU, Where for some English is not the first language. Thats real xenophobia right there. 🤐

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,411 ✭✭✭lmao10

Pretty sure its an eastern european just off the mistakes they are making and knowing a bit of one eastern euro language. Seen it in a few posters actually. Could be wrong though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,211 ✭✭✭✭Suckit

So to recap. You suggest closing down the thread or that the thread has 'run it's course', throw around the word xenophobia without actually mentioning who it is you were referring to, then when pushed, you mention it was me, and quote a post that was made long after you used the word. I repeatedly asked you for any proof (which you have still been unable to give) as to how I am xenophobic, after you claim your are doing Gods work by 'calling out xenophobia' on this thread, (which you weren't), and the post you quote is still not me being xenophobic, so I ask for more, and now it appears I am not posting from this country, nor is English my first language.

Are you going to back anything up or just constantly deflect with this bullsh*t? Or are you just completely blind to any issues that arise from taking in too many people from anywhere, we are now moving refugees from one country, to make room for more coming in, with the initial ones being moved to tents without toilets down in Clare. Or are you blind to that too. Yet also seemingly defending Ukraine with regard to it being well known as a racist country. You really do try to pick and choose which side to be outraged by. What you are accusing one person of on here, is literally what the people and bodies you are defending here have been practicing.

    Pwah ha ha ha... 😂🤣

    What mistakes?

So now these two sleuths have me pegged as 'not a real Irish person'.. Not posting from Ireland...

    And I'm the xenophobe... 🤗🤣

Goodnight folks. 02:32AM and work in the morning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,273 ✭✭✭xxxxxxl

It's gas, go on about xenophobia then being xenophobic. Almost like we know who the real racists are. 🤔

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,411 ✭✭✭lmao10

It's xenophobic to notice English is not someones first language? The poster was being xenophobic, as you know, so it was just an interesting thing to notice. It's not rare here, there are a few lads who have admitted they are eastern european in the multiculturalism thread and there have been xenophobic posts from them about other races (they will hide it behind talking about "cultures") while being immigrants themselves. It's just nice to know who you are talking to. As I've said on many occasions, I love eastern europeans. Had many a EE girlfriend and a couple of close friends.

I would have thought comments about English are exclusionary. Meets the definition in my eyes. I'm not Irish Either.

Very, it’s oddsville and a very unsettling time. I feel sorry for anyone on a hospital waiting list, housing waiting list or even in social housing… wouldn’t like to be a native couple in a two bedroom home, with no kids, jeez.

This was all over the news at the time . Ukraine were only looking after the whites and the rest were left.

the Ukrainians won’t like seeing that beds are full here with non whites but that’s just tough ****

I work with 4 Ukrainians. All paid in cash. I assume they keep their full SW entitlements.

3 have already returned to Ukraine to visit husbands and family....... and are now back here again. Its NOT dog eat dog where they are from in Ukraine. They are all very well fed looking too, in fact they are finding the work I do (which is physical) far more demanding than the rest of us. Their host has paid for English lessons for them but they do not engage at all, turn up late, smoke their way through them. The host is in her sixties, a widow and is now at her wits end. There is nowhere for her to move them on to.

I think the reason the pledges have dried up and phones are not being answered is that the vast vast majority of people can see what is happening here! Initially we all donated, we all gave what we could, worked in local centres helping gather together donated items etc. But that has changed. People are very angry at the preferential treatment Ukrainians have been given and to be honest the Facebook page "helping hands for Ukrainians" was a complete eye opener for me. Most people NOW are not fleeing war, they are economic migrants.

That's gas. It's almost word for word(apart from the war bit) the same as a post about travellers that appeared on another thread!

Re giving Ukrainians priority to housing, how is it the government’s fault that Irish people are willing to give their free bedrooms and in some cases, whose houses to Ukrainians but not to their fellow country folk?

All of those offers of accommodation would have solved our own homeless problems.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 648 ✭✭✭Irelandsnumberone

So you think an acceptable solution to the Irish housing problem is for people with a house to invite those without one into their home

I assume that you have reported them to the authorities? Imagine any employer allowing such carryon in this day and age. Shame in them.

Why not? If they are willing to accept Ukrainians into their homes, why not offer the same deal to their fellow country folk?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,117 ✭✭✭realdanbreen

So seeing as the "4 Ukranians " are paid in cash then I assume you are also paid in cash and don't pay tax etc on your income. You do make one good point however, I mean the cheek of those Ukranians to be " well fed looking ".

I have to toddle off now to get early mass, but I'd say you are probably already there right at the top of the church.

I think the gestures of those good enough to pledge accomodation is being entirely conflated with Government prioritising and offering Modular, Temporary Homes to one Cohort (Skipping the Q, so to speak) over people in Emergency Accommodation and on housing lists.

Indeed Housing charities also at this disgraceful behaviour.

    Let's be abundantly clear.

A private Citizen offering accommodation on the basis of a humanitarian gesture, wether it be a full house or rooms is entirely different to.....

A Government, with some obligations blatantly and in my view discriminating, allowing one cohort (wether they be Refugees or not) is disgraceful, particularly when many being discriminated against have been on waiting lists for years or in emergency Accommodation for years.

People will say, it's only a temporary measure to justify this, I say, Hogwash because I know, there's nothing temporary about it at all, no matter what spin is put on it.

There should be absolutely no discrimination and rather than government making an appalling situation worse, the solution is quite simple, put as much effort into those waiting for years, do the Virtue signalling nonsense if they wish, cap it and start addressing and reducing the crisis that's been in existence for years, its not rocket science and maybe, just maybe, government might actually get a little support, this continuing farce and chaos has led to social incohesion and people wonder why there's such unease, this aside from the utter incompetence and Shenanigans at play.

A Turd is a Turd even if polished. Some may not like some hard truths but they are glaring if only people opened their Eyes

7,000, yes 7,000 more Ukrainian refugees expected by end of August whilst Zelenskyy and his wife have time for a Vogue Magazine Shoot 🙄

The Govt asked people to as a result of the war in Ukraine.

The same racist Govt wouldn't do the same for black refugees from Africa though. White Europeans welcome in lads we will get you dole, free places stay (you might need to spend a few nights in aviva before a place is free in a hotel for you, free meals, free gp,

Africans told get the **** in that DP centre and don't complain

I agree, but let's not forget, Government invited nearly 600 "Others" in on on top of the 43k Ukranian refugees, these are not illegal as government would like us to believe. There are currently and separately 4.5K fully processed in DP and have nowhere to go because of this farce.

Just to put this in context if we combine all those being currently accommodated in an emergency situation, a rough figure Currently is

    45,000

I'm allowing for not all Ukrainian refugees in emergency Accommodation and I'm be conservative.

Just think, 45,000, and no room at the Inn and many more to come, Just Bonkers IMO
