My Sports Extra membership was up in about 3 weeks. Just cancelled it there and was offered 6 months at €10 per month. Hopefully there'll also be a decent Sky Sports offer soon.

Im looking for one too, tried all the old ones, there doesnt seem to be any around at the minute

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,038 ✭✭✭JDxtra

Note the codes for Sky Sports @ €30 for 3 months up front still work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 248 ✭✭patmahe

This is a regular thing, I regularly cancel as I'm often only interested in one specific event and even if I don't get an offer there and then, within a month I'll have some offer in my inbox, last one was the €10 a month for 3 months. Worth a try if you don't need sky sports constantly which I don't

I’m on a 55 and the boost is a must.

Thanks, that worked a treat. Now I just have to hope another Entertainment discount deal comes up again soon :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,854 ✭✭✭Raoul

    Pretty expensive though isn't it.

Actually I didn't even realise that boost is only 1080. Bit of a rip off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 538 ✭✭✭Full_Circle_81

Paying extra to get less than what most of the other streamers offer in their base price! Thats the SKY way :D

Still waiting like many others I reckon to see are there long term Sky Sports / Sports Extra deals coming. I’m hovering over the 3 month €30 Sky Sports deal but my instinct is to be patient 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’m the same.. holding off on availing of any Sports deals.. need to be patient. Paid full amount for this month

    Same here.

My 10 month deal ends the 1st August.

I cancelled but was only offered a 3 month deal at 23 a month, which I declined.

The 30 for 3 months deal is a great deal in fairness but I don't want to miss out on a football season long deal.

I'm counting on being patient, but is a slightly different year given the early start to the EPL season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 410 ✭✭bugsyb4

Hanging on there too but am close to getting 3 months for €30 offer as not sure when that code will stop working.

The 10 month deal for €150 is handy in that has you covered for the season but still works out more p/m and with the WC falling in middle of season could nearly afford to take a month off Sports subscription this season. Must look into a few dates and see when Sports subscription not needed from actually.

All rugby be on Sports Extra and I think only other thing I need for is the golf which will have nothing I watch Nov/Dec time.

Edit: Instead, the competition will be halted during the World Cup, with the break lasting more than six weeks: it will stop on the weekend of November 12 and resume on December 26.

2 Rugby Championship games between South Africa and New Zealand are on sky early next month, probably the pick of the RC games this season so I'm holding on to the sports pack till then at least

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 410 ✭✭bugsyb4

That all starts same weekend as Premiership season. I have no massive interest in the rugby but some other members of family who have some devices on our account would so need for this and then there is the Nov internationals too which go to 26th Nov. 1 month gap there then until Prem starts back on 26th Dec, so wouldn't need it during this period really.

Tried to work it out but nearly need to cover 4 months, pity it is only a 3 month deal they have at the minute.

Must get onto them on chat see is there any 10 month deal coming out or could they give me a voucher for 1 month free to a loyal customer 😂😂

Good point there about the break for the world cup.

    Never thought of that.

Can the 30 for three months offer be relied on? If you were getting it at the start of august for the PL, you would need to renew another 3 times to cover all 10 months of the season.

If you got the 3 for 30 each time, then that would be 120 for the 10 months. if the offer wasn’t there though and you paid full price, then the saving would quickly evaporate.

I see DID and Harvey Norman have the stick with sports bundle for €14.99

    Think I'll buy 12

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,038 ✭✭✭JDxtra

    E-waste!

Plus I think there is a chance those offers cannot be stacked on the same account.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,120 ✭✭✭wassie

Historically no. Sky Sports has typically always been the most expensive membership, which is why a lot of us are holding out for the a long term deal. €150/10 months was typically the best deal over the long term as the cheaper offers never lasted.

There have been some massive discounts across the board over the last few months but that seems to have dried up in the last few weeks. This could just be seasonal also as summer viewership is generally lower.

I've only really be subscribing since autumn last year, but have managed to get a deal most of the time. I pulled the trigger on the 3 month offer and it's automatically started that from my next payment due date which was end of august (from the last 3 month offer). If the 150 for 10 months comes up, would that start counting from end of November?

No, it won't allow you apply another offer for the same membership type if you've an offer currently active on your account.

You could just set up another account and apply the new offer to that though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,410 ✭✭✭antimatterx

That's my plan if the offer comes out next week or two.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 410 ✭✭bugsyb4

Thanks for poster who mentioned sticks on offer at the minute.

Am trying to get one today some value in it as I bought one on offer end of March for I think was €25 which I still considered good value to now be €15 is excellent. If anyone hasn't used the NOW TV Stick highly recommend as we are always using has all your Apps in the one place and can access RTE and Virgin Media Player there too! That will be get me my 4 months anyway hopefully so all will be good up to Christmas and then same process will start again 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 938 ✭✭✭HorseRadish

I bit the bullet and used the codes 😅 I was looking at the Now UK equivalent and they don't have any season pass up (yet)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 447 ✭✭iHungry

I know what you mean. I could give them away afterwards or to a charity shop.

Codes stack up so no issue there.

€180 for 12 months of sports and sports extra

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 410 ✭✭bugsyb4

People sell them on Adverts and Done Deal too.

I bought one from there before with no issues.

Can anyone with an active sports pass tell me if they have the option on their device to pause live tv and resume 10 minutes later for example? They seem to have brought in the feature (for up to 30min) but I can’t see the device compatibility list however the Now stick is mentioned. So say if I’m watching the opening game of the premier league and the toddler needs attention I can pause and resume at the same point. Thanks in advance.

It's not working for me on a Now stick, I just checked. Software is up to date too.
