It was easy to spot a garda motorcyclist in the 90s. Few had skin on their elbows.

The Cork Camry was there when I was on Phase 2 in 1995. A beautiful car, absolutely zero engine noise. One of the first with onboard speed camera systems (backed up by a large VHS recorder in the boot).

The Great thing with the ST was it didn't look like an unmarked patrol car.

These EV patrol cars are great for PR, but what if you are in a 24 Hr station, and the last unit just plugged it in to charge it. Better still, you disturb travelling criminals in Rural west cork. Its 4am. They are heading back for the South ring so they can hit the M8 back north. Do you hope they want to stop at McD in Cashel so you can get a fast charge before continuing to dublin?

Ideal for Compol & warrants. Fine for rural sub stations maybe? But otherwise the only solution is to double the fleet, so you have another EV to use while one is charging.

They do go like a rocket tho. The Kona EV is a licence burner.

I think they’re trying to get some form of confrontation from the guards. A Garda tries to eject them from the station, search them, arrest them etc.

Then they shout back legislation to suggest whatever they are doing is legal.

Finally, they put it up on YouTube and hopefully get a lot of views. Which brings an income.
