ive signed a contract to start a new job and handed in my notice with my current employer.

However I’ve changed mind, can I back out before the contract starts?

As regards new job You can do as you please.......but advise them ASAP & be as conciliatory as possible..... this isn't N Korea .

I assume you've reached a deal with currant employer re remuneration/ terms???

Thanks Ken, appreciate that. Reason is I’ve just learnt they’ve layed off a lot of staff inc people I was due to work with. Thus very concerned now what I would be joining and that they haven’t told me what’s been going on.

In that case they'll hardly be surprised at your ' thanks but no' reply. No point in signing on to a sinking ship
