Why was there such surprise at opening the envelope to announce the man of the match !! Didn't they know it was going to be a Kerry player because the trophy was there

It was nice of RTE to have him freshly varnished for the big day

Kerry is just weird all round, personally i find the whole hysteria around winning an all Ireland ridiculous, how on earth should it be national news?

Was rejoicing in Ireland's win over the all blacks over various vids on youtube and found one where an Irish journalist who'd been living in NZ for 30 years was being interviewed and he said there was more interest at home in the all Ireland than the series win.

Marty morrissey is an only child of two only children, so not only does he have no brothers or sisters, he also has no aunts uncles or cousins. Surely that is extremely rare in most places except China?

Because it’s an All Ireland. A game that crowned the champion of our national sport. To be fair, anyone more concerned with a friendly win in a friendly game against an undercooked all blacks team needs their head checked.

All this friendly win does is get the moustache and chino brigade even more excited ahead of the inevitable exit at the hands of the first decent team they meet in the next World Cup.
