Non-stop crashes in the last few minutes again today

No sign of Ewers on the climb, must have been her taking her team mates bike after those crashes. AVV didn't look all that comfortable on the climb, she was all over the bike.

AVV dropped on the bonus climb!!!!! Can't stay with the pace, I knew she didn't look good on the previous climb and she took a toilet break earlier in the stage, hopefully not sickness.

Absolutely cracking 4 up sprint at the end. Thrilling finish.

Ludwig destroyed the lot of them at the end

She's got her potty mouth on today 😁

Just looking further down the classification... the Stade Rochelais Charente-Maritime team started the day with six riders, but there will be only two of them starting tomorrow. Two riders were DNF and the other two were OTL 😬

She’s said she’s been ill for the last two days, hopefully she gets over it and can get back up to speed

Great finish today up that final climb but Lord God the commentary on GCN is absolutely shocking. The two on it are soooooooo boring. Then bring zero excitement to it.

Just seeing this now. That’s was criminally reckless by Frain in my opinion. She could have caused serious long term damage to another rider just because she didn’t want to get caught up in a crash. She should have been DQ”ed and be looking at a ban.

I actually think he reaction after the stage was worse, seemed to be no thought for other riders. On the incident, she was kinda lead out into it - looks horrible in slow motion, and real time to be fair, when the camera is focused on the crash - but that's not really her POV in the race.

Same here, in a race, if you played back some of my stupid moves I am sure I'd be accused of dangerous riding. A mistake was made, a very poor one but until she opened her mouth, thats all it was. A fine, maybe a ban from the race but thats it at most. She came out and never even seemed concerned about the other rider. I wouldn't be in a right state for I don't know how long if I'd fucked up like that.

Four gravel sections today... The action should be great. The gravel looks very loose and not in any way compacted. Looks a lot harder than Strade Bianche

Yeah from what Manon Lloyd was showing there it looks pretty sketchy to me.

A good few splits after that first sector, although it did look like the peloton rode fairly conservatively. When a rider/team does go full gas on the remaining sectors, it will be carnage

That was some wheel change under pressure for Ludwig, had she a tool or were there levers on the wheel, couldn't see?

I know marginal aero gains and all that, but I've often wondered why over cobbles and gravel they don't use thru axle bolts with levers.

The tool is easily taped under a saddle even. Balsamo on the Trek there has them on.

Nightmare, bad to worse for poor Mavi.

Personally I'm cheering for a Longo Borghini win.

In a decent position in the GC at the moment, could've been in trouble today but the rest of the peleton didn't seem to put her under any pressure when she lost time after a bike change with Balsamo.

Very likeable character is Longo Borghini always come across well. I was hoping the Americans Falkner and Ewers could do well as they've had a great year so far but the crashes haven't gone their way. Ewers did take back a handful of seconds in that move today.

Another cracking stage, missed it live due to family getting in the way but the highlights were great. I really do hope they drag it out to a full TdF race sooner rather than later.

No, you have to say "Elisa Longo Borghini". Every single time. Just like the commentators. And don't worry, it's not annoying at all.

I think it should be 'ELB' from now on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,650 ✭✭✭Macy0161

Watched the highlights this morning. As commented above kinda the anti JV mens team from Cecilie under pressure, even for the chase back on. To answer my own question when not watching live, I think Cecilie had the levered thru axel too. Mavi had a horror show, but whatever bad luck has to be tempered by them taking out the Bex rider!

Anyway, for those that haven't been watching and have GCN+, well worth catching the "long" highlights of all the stages so far!

I can't believe Mavi Garcia only lost less than 2 mins after the horror show of yesterday. Fair fcuks to her, I hope she can work some time back in the mountains.

If she has any luck it's bad!

Sounds like some sort of European Organisation of the type that the Brexiteers would be raging against.

Wow that was quite the pile up
