Wouldn't be the first time Wiebes left a team early, she had trouble getting out of the Parkhotel one before joining DSM. On the money it's had to argue with 16 wins from 32 races days so far this year when it comes to negotiations.

That crash involving Cavalli looked almost surreal. To me, it seems like Nicole Frain decided not to brake even though it was obvious that there was a crash/stoppage, and she planned to weave through the riders. Very careless riding

She was never beating Vos there and they knew it, she said as much after the stage. The plan was for Balsamo to drive it so that Longo Borghini gained time on GC over those behind.

The more I look at that shot from behind the worse this gets. She looks like she thought she could slalom through it all and was attempting to do just that. No excuse for what she did there, no more than a rider deviating from their line in a sprint.

Just caught the highlights, never like to see it, like a blood bath with the crashes. Great stage other than that. Trek had some weird tactics going on, not sure what they were trying to achieve. Nonetheless, a very entertaining stage, hopefully most if not all who crashed are OK for tomorrow. Haven't looked at the news but wouldn't be surprised if some have to retire after that

Bad enough to do what she did without lying about seeing the smash and deliberately trying to ride through it.

I cannot understand how she's not getting disqualified.

I’d be willing to give some leeway in terms of post race adrenaline given her earlier interview was right after and not assessing things properly, but that statements absolute bollox.

There was riders strewn all over the place and stopped dead, she couldn’t possibly have not seen them. The last line is so stupid as well, it’s just going to rile people up. Sure you’re getting lambasted over it, but throwing in something about people shouldn’t be giving their opinion is just going to fan the flames

And she didn't "crash over the top of the rider on the ground". She just ploughed straight into her and knocked her out of the Tour. And she's "sore as well" but no mention of Cavalli. Whoever came up with that statement needs to be fired on the spot 😂
