If you move from a clerical officer to Executive officer after a couple of years in the service do you start at the starting scale of EO? The current CO salary is still below the entry level EO one.

If your current salary is below the starting rate for an EO, you start on the first point of the EO scale.

For others going from CO to EO you may go up one point on the EO scale depending on your current pay:

Circular 8 of 2019 - section 1.2 (iv) states “where the minimum of the new salary scale is greater than existing pay by an amount less than the first increment on the new scale, the officer may enter the new scale at the minimum plus one increment.”

Check your contract before signing to make sure you are on the correct point of the EO scale.

Hi there, I'm just looking at my options if anybody could please advise. I'm currently a standard CO point 9 on the scale but if I move to standard EO scale then what point would they put me on? Even if taking into consideration my next increment as a CO it is still higher than point 3 on the EO scale. Thank you.

Normally it’s the next increment up (increment 3 of EO), pay on promotion can allow +1 increment (increment 4) but you would need to make a case.

You will go to point 4. Nearest increment above your current pay +1. Its outlined in the promotion circulars.
