True but there’s a significant increases in welfare shoppers internationally it appears

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,325 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

Now now now. I don't want to confuse you any more. We are still waiting for you to catch up with the question I asked before your own irrelevant attempt at deflection. Is this your usual tactic when you aren't able to answer something? Try to project what you are doing yourself onto others as if you think nobody will notice?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,273 ✭✭✭xxxxxxl

They will be repelled and dealt with as more kit arrives. As I have said Ukraine will possibly lose some land in the East and then just shell the Russians and they will do the same while the vast majority of Ukraine rebuilds and gets back to business.

Ah but I already answered your nonsensical deflection hypothetical. Maybe it wasn't clear for you so here it is again..

    2. I will happily admit that I would send back anyone that either...

    A. Has arrived here under false pretenses

    B. We cannot sustainably support/provide for in the first place

It's very obvious what you're at with this by the way. You want someone to say "I'd send them all back!" so you can start crying "murderer" or whatever because - again wholly inaccurately - you are trying to suggest that being rejected by Ireland means a death sentence

Now.. come back to me on these...

    1. Given that it's now being widely reported that our ability to help has reached its limits, how do you propose to resolve that to enable us to accommodate more?

    2. Given that the IT poll today shows a shift in the public mood to having concerns about the approach still being driven by Government, how do you justify that in a democratic Republic? Do the citizens not have a right or say in matters like this?

Given they are the ones expected to pay for, DIRECTLY support and accommodate, and accept being pushed down the queue for the same services these people are being prioritised for, how do you stand over the call for them to "do more" in the current climate?

    3. Again, how is pushing already strained or indeed broken services beyond their limits going to help refugees, let alone anyone else?

I won't be wasting any more time on you. The answers are there which is more than you've offered. Not my fault if you can't understand them.

That's because we give them leave to keep appealing the decision over and over at our expense - which is another element of how broken our immigration and border controls really are.

And then to make it worse, after a few years the likes of Helen McEntee will cheerlead a ceremony to "regularise" them and reward them for their efforts.

Now now Questions have been put to someone about how they would solve the issue. Thus far nothing. Now most of us would not expect a thesis on it but maybe An idea on how to solve the Issue. Most people have had a stab at it. Via Questions of where you are from and alike. Very simple to check if people are lying about where they are from. 😏

Q1. Foundation level maths. John is driving a train which leaves Houston station at 9am. He travels at an average speed of 50mph. His next stop is 100 miles away. What time does he get there at:

xxxxxxl's answer. I know someone called John. He can't drive a train. Even if he could drive a train he is on the dole and doesn't get up that early. We first need to buy him an alarm clock. And, don't forget, the train is painted blue. It shouldn't be blue. John is also gluten intolerant and the price of diesel has gone up massively in the last 12 months.

Ahh stop now lad what are you on about.

What's your point your trying to make? That there's always going to be a bit of fraud??

    Sure we all no that.

Seems like you like the current approach of the government, never try to fix things, domt integrate systems, accept people will scam you and see it happen time and time again.

It is a seperate issue, one you brought up. Its not about zero its about less, and actually acting on false claims through deportations etc, whole system is a mess.

We are given blanket welfare to the population of a country every 4 months with no questions asked

Questions of where you are from and alike

You appear to have had a revelation and answered your own question!!!

Thread is about refugees from Ukraine. Not refugees of unknown origin. You will have to start a different thread for that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,273 ✭✭✭xxxxxxl

apparently if there is Fraud you may as well let anyone do anything because you cannot stop it. I'm off to get a job on the DART no Licence needed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,325 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

Yes. It is a simple point. At what cutoff do you decide that the level of fraud is so much that we stop the system entirely? There is a point at which you have to do that.

If you know that there is some fraud, and you persist with the scheme - regardless of what the scheme is, asylum, dole, PUP, grants - then you are implicity agreeing that there is some level of fraud which you are prepared to accept as a cost of delivering the benefit to others

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,273 ✭✭✭xxxxxxl

I answered it ages ago. Someone did not. We can find out and stop probably 90% false claims if we had a mind to. But lets not Because no system is secure. I remember a man Saying dole cheats cheat us all or something to that affect. sure why bother. 🤣

I think that's what he's trying to make also. I honestly don't no.

He could do quite well in The Dail that fella

Might apply to Canada for Asylum myself the way this place is going. Doubt I'll get very far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,273 ✭✭✭xxxxxxl

Just tell them no system is secure why bother Sure don't even show up with a passport. They will take you no problem.

Off to my bank now with no details gonna tell them I have 14bn Euro. sure no system is secure they will believe me. 😀

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,325 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

No you didn't. Because you got confused, I even explained if to you further. You start with a million billiion people. Do all your checks. Get rid of the 90% that you are on about. At the very end of doing everything that you can, you still have X left. You know that 10 of those are genuine. X-10 of them are not. And you can't tell which ones are which from within that group. All the rest have been processed.

Your answer to that problem is find out which ones are genuine. That you cannot determine that is the given problem in the question.

If I ever had to avail of Refugee status I would have all my information with me. Who would not ? Minimum passport and PPS. Most refugees seem to have smart phones. So you could access there Google maps locations for years. Basic stuff it is the future not 1950s.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,325 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

    Who would not?

Maybe an actual legitimate refugee fleeing a warzone?

What are you complaining about here on this thread. Are you complaining about Ukrainian refugees (title of thread - implicit in which is that we have determined they are Ukrainain), or are you complaining about non-Ukrainian refugees or are you complaining that there is no war in Ukraine?

Don’t forget your PSC, Passport and a letter from the officials who arranged your accommodation.

Not being able to determine their own immigration rules is the main reason why the UK left the EU

camps at Calais filled with illegal economic migrants waiting to break into truck trailers to get to the UK was the straw that broke the camels back .

Unless more robust immigration laws are drafted and harder enforcement is in place the farcical influx will simply increase .

We will have to make amendments to laws etc come September. Her involvement in Tayto won’t remedy this crisis.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 507 ✭✭✭slay55

The problem is the government never declared from the start about this. They announced anyone can come here providing they have a Ukrainian passport and have lived in the country during the start of the war.

I can’t see them now changing their rules as will look bad to the EU

    cant upset the EU

This government will go down in history and generations will be reading and learning from their idiotic policies.

wose than De Valera and that’s saying something

The origins of Ireland's "best in class" approach to mass immigration can be found in the work of the late Peter Sutherland, FG. The Doyen of Darvos who was passionate about mass immigration and was not shy about telling First World countries that they need to do much more. He had an acolyte also, one Simon Coveney. See Bilderberg. FG continue the globalisation theme today. One in, all in, it is all for global capitalism and economic success. Yeah right.

I have no doubt in my mind that this is where it all stemmed from, and FG are continuing that policy no matter what.

Discussed numerous times a Ukrainian Passport is not required to open a Basic Bank account for those who've been admitted to Ireland. Some banks do require it if opening an account on a smart phone / online or not face to face application. Infact one bank I took the time to check but I'm aware of others , PTSB requires NO official ID .Try that as an Irish Citizen or indeed any other Citizen and see how fast your told to take a Hike

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.

We are missing the bigger picture. This bending over backwards is part of some grand plan by the government.

AIB, which is the only one I’m familiar with, require Passport, international, not Ukrainian unless it’s accompanied by translation from a recognised translator, PSC and a letter on official letterhead, signed by recognised official confirming address. That’s for a basic account.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,046 ✭✭✭✭road_high

Yes now it’s the polar opposite of dev- he closed ireland off to the world whereas the current shower are giving it away.

A robust immigration system is an essential for any country- we only recently gained some level of prosperity and in my opinion there is absolutely nothing wrong with allowing the Irish people enjoy the fruits of that as an absolute priority.
